The world is evolving with new inventions making our lives easier and faster. Some can cost us, while others are life savers.
Tell us about that financial mistake you made digitally. Perhaps wrong transactions to the wrong people or sent airtime to the wrong person or probably bought more airtime than intended, mistakenly.
I saw a tweet the other day and I laughed so hard. This X user was advising people to use a toothpick to count the zeros in their bank apps before sending money. This was really hilarious and just maybe this person has been a victim of making mistakes while carrying out transactions.
Whenever I am about to carry out any financial transaction I keep quiet. I am usually very serious, if I ever get distracted during the process I will start all over again. I’d rather go through the same process over and again than be sorry later.
I try to be careful at all times as I do not have the energy to make multiple trips to the bank to undo any financial mistake. I have also had my fair share of dealing with wrong transactions and honestly, it sucks.
Worthy of note is my encounter with a POS operator.
On that faithful day, I was in a hurry. I just wanted to withdraw my money and go home. I was supposed to send 5k but I mistakenly sent 50k. The POS operator saw the alert and immediately gave me my cash(5k) and I left.
Just when I was about to board a bus, I saw the POS lady shouting and running towards me. At first, I got annoyed, didn’t she see the alert, I murmured to myself. I Walked towards her and asked why she was running after me. Glaring at her, I watched her try to catch her breath. “Madam you sent 50k ooo”.
My eyes widened, I brought out my phone from my bag and saw the debit alert, it was truly 50k, I gasped. I was speechless for some seconds, I looked at the lady. She requested for my account details so she could send the remaining 45k, ladies and gentlemen I was shocked.
This was a client’s money and I was shocked because someone could return such an amount without being cajoled to, mind you, it was in the market, meaning the POS lady walks around the market and does not have a shop.
I stared at the woman with so much admiration, I had so much to say but nothing came out of my mouth. All I could say eventually was “Thank you”, I tipped her and left.
I got home and all I could think of were the “What ifs”, and how the lady was an angel.
This incident taught me to be extremely careful when carrying out financial transactions as you don’t get to see such angels every day.
What about you, have you made a wrong transaction before? How did it happen? You can share your story with us at the Digital Lifestyle Community.

I would get a small gift for her, tuck it in my purse, and if I see her at the market again, give it to her with another "Thank you!" for being so helpful! What a gem she is! 💖
Awwww this is such a wonderful idea. It’s been a while since this incident happened, we haven’t crossed path but I still think about her kindness.
Good people are hard to find but they are all around us. That lady is a good person.
Most times we just always think that being in a hurry makes us fast but it sometimes slows us down.

She is truly a good woman and we don't get to see people like this every day.
