Why do we have to be extremists with abortion?

  Why do we always have to be so extremist? Why always black and white? I was going to keep this topic to myself. But after I read a couple of posts about abortion, I had to express my opinion. But I am still with what @xlety wrote about the topic. It is her body, so when the time comes, she will make the final decision about what to do with a possible pregnancy. Why do we want to point out always what people should or should not do?

  Of course, I think that women who are thinking about abortion by their own choice ( I am excluding here the health problems), they should go through a certain type of self-analysis with a psychologist or social worker to see if it is really their decision. People indeed can regret of a decision of an abortion. It is a serious surgery, like many others, including polemical ones like a change of sex. Any surgery has a risk for the person as well. So an abortion it isn't like a magic pill that the problem disappears. It brings emotional consequences and the woman should be 100% certain that this is right for her.

  However, we shouldn't protest and tell women who are going through abortion that we are against that. It isn't about us, it isn't us going to a surgery room. It is interesting that the same people who are against abortion and fight for it they switch sides when they are talking about vaccines. You will find the same people saying "My life, my body, no to vaccines". Interesting right? So for vaccines, they are the only ones that can decide about the consequences, but for abortion is different?

  I had a friend who discovered during the pregnancy that their child had a terrible, rare genetic disease (I don't quite remember which one). The main symptom of the disease created so many problems for the child to development. Since Brazil only allows abortion in some cases, they continued with the pregnancy. The children were born and they knew that the kid wouldn't reach adulthood. He has through N surgeries since he was a newborn. Parents went through an emotional and financial (since they had to spend so much). In the end, the child died, if I remember well, when he was 5 or 7 years old. The suffering was long. The parents after his death, decided to divorce. I think all their emotions in the relationship were sucked by this problem.

  I think it is very difficult when someone asks me what my opinion is about abortion to answer if I am in favor or against, because I really think that it isn't up to me to decide. Even with my wife, I told her that I would always support whatever her decision is about surgeries or medical procedures that she wants to go through, including a potential abortion. Why we want to dictate what others should think? The only thing that I am in favor for the person to understand that this is a decision in their life and they should be very aware about the consequences.

 Por que temos que ser sempre tão extremistas? Por que sempre preto no branco? Eu ia guardar esse assunto para mim. Mas depois de ler alguns posts sobre aborto, senti que precisava expressar minha opinião. Mas continuo concordando com o que a @xlety escreveu sobre o assunto. É o corpo dela, então quando chegar a hora, ela tomará a decisão final sobre o que fazer com uma possível gravidez. Por que sempre queremos dizer o que as pessoas devem ou não fazer?

 É claro que acho que as mulheres que estão pensando em fazer um aborto por escolha própria (excluindo aqui os problemas de saúde) devem passar por uma autoanálise com um psicólogo ou assistente social para ver se é realmente uma decisão delas. De fato, as pessoas podem se arrepender da decisão de fazer um aborto. É uma cirurgia séria, como muitas outras, incluindo as polêmicas como a mudança de sexo. Qualquer cirurgia também apresenta riscos para a pessoa. Portanto, um aborto não é como uma pílula mágica que resolve o problema. Ele traz consequências emocionais e a mulher deve ter 100% de certeza de que é a decisão certa para ela.

 No entanto, não devemos protestar e dizer às mulheres que estão passando por um aborto que somos contra. Não se trata de nós, não somos nós que vamos para a sala de cirurgia. É interessante que as mesmas pessoas que são contra o aborto e lutam por ele mudem de opinião quando se trata de vacinas. Você encontrará as mesmas pessoas dizendo "Minha vida, meu corpo, não às vacinas". Interessante, não é? Então, para as vacinas, só elas podem decidir sobre as consequências, mas para o aborto é diferente?

  Eu tinha uma amiga que descobriu durante a gravidez que seu filho tinha uma doença genética rara e terrível (não me lembro exatamente qual). O principal sintoma da doença causou tantos problemas para o desenvolvimento da criança. Como o Brasil só permite o aborto em alguns casos, eles prosseguiram com a gravidez. A criança nasceu e eles sabiam que ela não chegaria à idade adulta. Ela passou por inúmeras cirurgias desde recém-nascida. Os pais sofreram muito emocionalmente e financeiramente (pois tiveram que gastar muito). No fim, a criança faleceu, se bem me lembro, quando tinha 5 ou 7 anos. O sofrimento foi longo. Após a morte dela, os pais decidiram se divorciar. Acho que todas as emoções do relacionamento foram consumidas por esse problema.

  Acho muito difícil, quando me perguntam minha opinião sobre o aborto, responder se sou a favor ou contra, porque realmente acredito que não cabe a mim decidir. Mesmo com minha esposa, eu disse a ela que sempre a apoiaria em qualquer decisão que tomasse sobre cirurgias ou procedimentos médicos, incluindo um possível aborto. Por que queremos ditar o que os outros devem pensar? A única coisa a que sou favorável é que a pessoa entenda que essa é uma decisão importante em sua vida e que ela deve estar bem ciente das consequências.
