Phew! What a stressful year 2025 was. The year 2025 was not only mentally and physically exhausting but also financially exhausting, especially with the fact that i’m a student. As humans, spending is something we literally can’t do without in our day-to-day lives, we have to pay for every single service rendered to us. It is either that or something else. As humans, what we choose to spend our money on is solely based on our choice and preference. Regardless of what we choose to spend our money on, it doesn’t dispute the fact that spending is a fundamental factor for survival…

Moving on, last year was indeed a tough year. As a student, I can’t count the number of things I spent my money on, both the relevant and the irrelevant ones, including different textbooks and handouts. I had to get all of them because of how important they were, and it was either that or failure. ND 1 second semester was the height of everything, this particular semester drained me financially. I didn’t spend my money on clothes, shoes or bling blings. Transportation, irrelevant textbooks, handouts and food were the four main things that exhausted me financially. These four things were so important, or should i say painted to be important that i and a lot of others were compelled to buy them. Moreover, most of these materials came in handy during the exam period…
THAT ONE THING…
what was the most expensive thing I spent my money on in the last one year?
Honestly, the answer to this question is quite simple yet difficult, and that’s because I’m confused on that one most expensive thing I spent my money on in the last one year. I would have said feeding because it is that one thing that really exhausted me financially last year. The fact that i was too lazy to cook in my own house made me spend more on feeding last year, but then it wasn’t a one time thing. Cumulatively, i d say it’s the most expensive thing i spent my money on last year. But at once, i’d say no, and that’s because the highest i’ve spent on food in a day is 3$…
So you all can see why i said the answer to this question is simple but yet difficult to answer…
Now, let’s do a quick makeover on the answer to this particular question. Honestly, the most expensive thing I spent my money on in the last one year was on PHONE. Oh yeah, last year i had to change my phone for over a thousand and one reasons before heading to school…
Changing my device to something bigger and better was not a big boy move or anything, it was an important decision that was meant to be taken to make the next two years of my life easier and worthwhile. I had to swap my IPHONE XR to 11( 128gb) because of two reasons. One, the battery of my XR was quite bad, and two which happened to be the most important reason was the storage issue. My XR was 64gb in terms of storage, i was already battling with low storage before admission came in, so i had to change my device to something bigger in storage to be able to enjoy my stay in school…

Was it worth it?
Oh yeah, it was so so worth it. I don’t regret spending that much on changing my device. The only thing I regret was patronizing the vendor I swapped from. It was a good deal with lots of commas. Anyways, it is what it is, this mistake won’t happen again…
If i had my way, i would never want to swap my device for something bigger again. I would prefer buying it newly, and that’s because there’s joy in purchasing a new iPhone than settling for swapped UK USED versions. I don’t have the funds for a new iPhone now, so I would definitely still settle for something like this over and over again, but then from a more reliable and trustworthy vendor…
THANKS FOR READING…
This is my first time bumping into any of your posts and I've got to say I really enjoyed the read. It was as if every single sentence prepped me up for the next and the story just kept getting better.... I am definitely following you up for more of your works, I've gotta say this has made a fan outta me.... Keep up the good work man.
One thing I've realized after years of staying alone is that cooking your own meals is way more expensive than buying from restaurants, so bro abeg dey cook for house it's even safer sef.
Well buying a new phone is actually a good move since your previous device was faulty and you actually had the money for it. Let's hope next time you have enough phones to get a brand new one instead of swapping as there are a lot of risks attached to buying UK used phones.
