Sporting tournaments || beyond the expenses

Greetings!

When talking about the international tournament, I wouldn't say it's a waste of resources and this is because of its importance to everyone involved. Back then, I too used to see international tournaments such as the world cup, olympics and the likes as a waste of resources.

However, recently, I realized that those international sporting tournaments are not a waste of time nor resources, but a commercial way for those stakeholders involved to make more money for themselves.

Aside from making money, which I would still go back to, these international sporting tournaments are very good in unity the world together. One thing that I know about one of those sporting tournaments, which is football, is that it unites the countries of the world together more than anything else.

Football is more than a sporting activities, but love on its own, although, it's a single ball that 22 players would be chasing on the field of play, but this singular object has the power of uniting the people of the world together and what this means is that the round leather game of football is powerful just because of what it carries.

Aside from the football uniting people of different colors and races together, other sports are also doing the same thing, sporting tournaments such as international basketball competition, boxing, wrestling and the likes are all testament to the fact that they unite the world together and have also made the world a small community where people see themselves as one.

Furthermore, these competitions have really helped people to be entertained, don't forget the saying that, “ all work without play makes Jack a dull boy. “ These tournaments have really helped us not to have a dull moment at all.

Now, as the Fifa world cup is fast approaching next year, I can say that I'm seriously eager to see the first kick of the ball in the tournament as I cannot wait for the tournament to get started.

So, in my own view, the international tournament is more needed than the money being spent on it and the players or athletes.

In addition, if we are to talk about the monetary aspect of the tournament, I'm so sure that those organizers and all the stakeholders involved in the tournament would make the money as the tournaments always attract more resources to the hosting nation.

I could remember when a local tournament was organized here in my area, back then in 2014, the commercial activities of my area were revived and this was because of the presence and influx of many people into my area.

Back then in 2014, all the hotel rooms in my neighborhood were booked by the people that came around for the sporting fiesta and as if that was not enough, the broadcasting rights of the tournament also fetched more income to my locality and the organizers of the tournament as well.

Also, my locality became a tourist centre for those that came from within and around the country and this same tournament brought my locality into the limelight with the infrastructure built and used for the tournament still in place till today, just that because of the poor maintenance culture of my people, everything has collapsed, but with the tournament we got known to the world.

In conclusion, these internationally organized tournaments are not just tournaments that consume money, but even generate more revenue to the hosting nations, unite people and also entertain people. Sporting tournaments to me are meant to connect the whole wide world together.
