As we all know that children are the heritage of God, we must also know that that are gifts from God to every human who desires them and in that case, they must be well taken care of.
Seeing the topic of the prompt before us which is about if it would be okay or ethical for parents to choose the traits or genes of their children even before birth just to have perfect children. I would say it would be okay on one hand and on the other hand, it might go against the law of nature and try to change the principle of God about creation.
Also, I would say, choosing what a child would look like might not be possible no matter the parents tried, but you see, the genetics and other things can be selected by the parents but not fully but partially. All these I would try and explain for proper clarifications.
Let me start with that of the ethical aspect of choosing what kind of a baby one would love to have before or at birth. Selecting the perfect feature for an unborn baby to me would be a good thing for the expectant parents and this is because, everyone wants something that would give him or her peace and joy and even the scripture even asked us to ask and it shall be given.
So, choosing and asking for a perfect baby with everything required in the likes of genes and trait present in the baby should not be a crime or reference to as unethical, but the question is, is there anything perfect in human? My answer is a capital No. So for this reason, choosing those features might not be necessary, but building it in them after birth would be the best things for expectant parents to desire and prioritize as babies are known to have empty brains at birth.
So, everything we want in them could be instill into them and even inscripted in their mind at their tender age when they can still be moulded into what we would have desired them to be or look like before birth.
Though, having the ability to modify the genes and the trait of the unborn children would be of great improvement but like I said earlier, this can still be done after birth and before these children begin to get used to the happenings around them. But if this would be made possible, the parents in question who has certain traits in their children must be themselves perfect as no one can give what he or she doesn't have.
Though, we all have what we are looking for in our children most especially the unborn ones, one thing we must do as expectant parents is to first of all make ourselves perfect for the coming of the unborn children as this is the most ethical thing to be done to have the needed traits in them.
Also, as for the defects side, it would seriously be of greater improvement on the part of the expectant parents to choose what their unborn kids would look like before birth so as to avoid deformities in them which may later become a burden to them after giving birth to those kids.
And as for the genotype, this to me can be decided by the parents before giving birth to their kids. Though, this might not be hundred percent correct, but one thing I know for sure is that we all know our genotype and before we could get married, we must also know the genotype of our partners.

Knowing the genotypes of ourselves and that of our partner has already given us the privilege to know and select the genotype of our unborn kids. So, what this means is that our destiny and choice of what the genotype of our kids should be is already in our hands. So, we must carry out our due diligence to avoid the story that touches at the end.
So, all of these things I have mentioned are ethical, but at first, we have to make ourselves perfect before we can have or choose a perfect baby as we can only give what we have and secondly, we must carry out our due diligence when it comes to selecting the genotype of whom our partners would be as by this, we may already know know what the genotype of our kids would be which is ethical by the way.

We must be careful in the search for perfection, since human beings are complex and different, we cannot want to build human beings that are the same and in series as if they were pieces.
Thanks for stopping by.
This is a very brief explanation, genottoe can be determined by the parent, but talent and gift cannot except they want the child to grow into becoming a talented in a specific phenominal act.
Yep. Thanks for stopping by.
This is wonderful...
If we really want to raise good and better children, then we must first become good and better ourselves...
Your points are a great one though.
Thanks for sharing.
