I was quite fond of reading #comics in my childhood. It was a welcome break for me into the world of storytelling. As I grew older, the interest in reading comics made me to shift my liking towards reading novels and further into other literatures. In my opinion, for many children, comics were a "gateway" into literature world. Their simple, direct style, supported by pictures, helped young mind build confidence before moving on to more complex novels. However with the passage of time and evolution of more affordable means of reading made the novels and comics disappear from the children shelf and so does from adults life.

the keys to unlock new worlds and expand the mind
There is always a unique sensory pleasure in holding a physical book, the feel of the pages, and even the scent of a new book, creating a deeper connection to the story and its creation. Physical book always offers an uninterrupted reading experience that promotes deeper engagement with the content and improved focus. In my childhood, my parents always insisted on reading books and newspaper. They wanted me to read loud and clear as it helps improving the my speech and also helps in learning new vocabulary. Reading is a beneficial habit. Books can offer new perspectives, life lessons, and inspiration for personal growth and success. Reading is a fundamental tool for lifelong learning, equipping us with skills for professional and personal growth. A wider vocabulary and improved understanding of language translate into better communication and writing skills. Reading keeps the brain active, much like exercise keeps the body fit, which can help ward off cognitive decline.
Just one more chapter...
I was a hardcore book lover in my young days. I had some good collection of romantic and fictional novels. It used to be a good time spending diving deep into the world of books. In those days, neither I had any advanced phone, nor had the internet connection. So immersing myself into the book world was a good option. I always used to carry a book in office bag or while I undertook any train journey. Reading books during a long train journey happens to be the best option. Even railway station too have the book stalls catering to the need of book lover. I once left behind in Allahabad station while picking up a book. However, the rise of e-books and audiobooks offers a compelling alternative to physical books, prioritizing convenience and multitasking over the traditional tactile experience. If I look back its been a decades, since I read any physical book. The demanding, careers, and other commitments in life made the book to part away from my life. I did not had enough time for the sustained reading. And hence I lost the interest in reading any physical book.
The last novel, that I remember reading during a train journey was "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. The book shares stories of people who claim to have used this "secret" to manifest wealth, health, and success, encouraging readers to focus on positive thoughts, visualize goals, and feel gratitude to bring their dreams into existence. Till the time I was into rwsing book, i was good at using new words and making sentences. But ever since I left reading the books, I fall short of words and even face challenges in making sentences. Reading physical exposes us to new words and sentence structures, improving our vocabulary and communication skills.
I always wanted to continue my reading habits. Especially ever since I developed certain eye issue. I wanted to reduce my screen exposure time and help my brain to function properly through books. I am looking forward to have some good book suggestion that may trigger my interest back. In case you have any suggestion drop the book name in the comments below. It may be novel, literature, fiction or any genre
In good faith - Peace!!
Reading this made me remember those times that I can't stop myself from finishing one romance tagalog pocketbook. That time I was so happy to learn new words, coz even it's tagalog, they also used english. I feel so cool whenever I can cuss to someone and they have no idea on what i'm saying. Back then I also learned a few words from Spanish language. I can't remember them now though coz I was like 11 then. Ohh, what a good memory to remember... And I still have some of my romance pocketbooks. (ʘᴗʘ✿)
I never really got into comics as a kid, though I didn't really read that much either. I prefered to be outside playing and stuff like that. My sister would spend all her time inside reading. Now they have graphic novels that are kind of a bridge for kids between that comic phase and the more traditional stuff.
Reading is definitely a beneficial habit as you would gain a lot in reading books. I read stories book as a child, too, mostly about the animal kingdom. Very interesting.
When you are on a journey, trust me, reading keeps you busy and entertained.
