Promenade by Promenada

in Wednesday Walk6 days ago

Among the hundreds of walks that keep repeating in the same places, it sometimes happens that I step into new, unknown places. Although I enjoy walking in familiar places, when the opposite happens, it awakens my dormant curiosity.

These unusual walks are generally triggered by some need or chance and are less planned. With me, it usually happens.

The need to go to a physiotherapy clinic forced me to go to a part of the city that I don't know very well. It is something opposed to my favorite place to walk, namely the Old Town. This time, I found myself in the new part of the city, the business district, with the latest and most modern buildings, mainly office buildings, as well as some commercial establishments.

Buildings of 20-40 floors, something amazing for Bucharest, which has a high seismic risk. Twenty years ago, the tallest building was less than 20 floors.

In the last few decades, new construction technologies, primarily based on metallic structures, have become available to us, and this is how this tower became the tallest building in Romania.

In all these buildings work tens of thousands of young people who have to eat at noon, and that's how the shopping malls have arrived nearby.

The mall is called Promenada, and that's how we came to a pun:

A promenade at the Promenada!

In Bucharest, there are 20 shopping malls. Promenada is not very big, but it is among the most beautiful.

When I say beautiful, I think of the roof of the mall, which is unique in its design.

What you see below is not in a park; it's on the roof of the mall.

Here are some pictures of the unique rooftop park.

It was a short walk, but I took a lot of photos, which are worth showing in a separate post.

I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words.

A wise saying goes that an image is worth a thousand words.

Everything depends on the beholder.

Make a point of looking around and up to see what you can find to get shots of that; otherwise, you may miss it.

This is one of the recommendations made by @tattoodjay for those who prefer walking and are used to sharing impressions and photos in his community, Wednesday Walk, every Wednesday, like this one today.

We have been to a place many times, we walk there, but every time we get a new experience because every time we meet new people there, things seem new.

Today you took a stroll through designs, something different and full of architecture and colour, like the seats that I loved! A very good walk!

Nice to see this area, although I am more of a country boy at heart

For the same reason many earthquakes for a long time New Zealand did not have many tall buildings and also like there with new techniues now they have some high rise buidings

Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
