Wednesday Walk : Rainy Day in Parc La Fontaine, Quebec

in Wednesday Walk2 days ago

For this #WednesdayWalk hosted by @tattoodjay, it's a walk in the rain in La Fontaine Park in Montreal. We're approaching the saddest time of year. The trees are starting to lose all their leaves, the sky is gray and rainy. And most importantly, the snow hasn't yet arrived to blanket the city in a thick white coat. But that's no reason to stay cooped up inside. It feels good to get some fresh air.

The walk was in Parc La Fontaine, one of Montreal's large parks. I've already talked about the history and design of this park in one of my first #WednesdayWalk posts, which you can read about Wednesday Walk challenge: Parc Lafontaine (Montreal).

The trees still have a few leaves, but they're starting to become sparse. A beautiful golden hue adorns the area around Avenue du Parc La Fontaine. Despite the rain, a few people were still out jogging. It's true that Wednesday wasn't all that cold.

Stairs

As I descended the few steps leading down to the Turtledove Pond (I didn't know that part of the artificial lake was called that), I noticed that the pond had been left to its own devices, with tall reeds growing everywhere. This makes for lovely hiding places for the ducks that frequent Parc La Fontaine.

But as I mentioned in the introduction, the saddest period in Montreal is approaching, as this bare tree shows. Luckily, there are a few local breweries to spend the long, warm evenings with friends 😀.

In a few weeks, this slope will be transformed into a toboggan run for children. In my photo, it looks a bit flat. But it's still quite fun for the neighborhood kids.

DSC09931.JPG

We end this walk with a bit of history at this statue in homage to Dollard des Ormeaux, an important but controversial figure in Canadian history. I encourage you to read the Wikipedia article if you're interested. Otherwise, the monument was created by Alfred Laliberté in 1920, a sculptor who produced numerous commemorative statues in Quebec (for more information: artpublicmontreal.ca).

I hope you enjoyed this Wednesday Walk with me despite the sad weather. Even in the rain, Parc La Fontaine remains a pleasant place to take a break and clear your head during a well-deserved work break.

Happy #WednesdayWalk everyone! / Bon #WednesdayWalk à tous...

Have a sunny day

It's true that the landscape looks a bit gloomy, but I like the photos because of the colors of the vegetation. Where I live, that season doesn't exist everything is still green here.
Very beautiful photos.

In Quebec, we're fortunate to have four very different seasons, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. In early autumn the trees are truly magnificent with their colors, but as winter approaches, it becomes rather "sad".
Thanks for your support

Passe un très bon vendredi

Even with the leaves all falling fast, the landscape is so colorful.

Parc La Fontaine is truly a beautiful park in the heart of the city; I'm lucky to live nearby.
Thanks for your support.
Have a wonderful Friday

Even with the the leaves drying off and falling off the trees, the autumn 🍂 effect is still present making the park really beautiful 😍

Yep beautiful park, interesting to walk there in all seasons.
Have a great Friday, weekend is coming 😀

Hey, are you aware that your HP delegated is also used to downvote #introduceyourself tag random posts?

Hiver r countering such downvotes but do you want to part of a problem?

Stickupboys gone anti hive after some downvote drama and started downvoting randomly. I noticed multiple times where downvote where given and countered with upvote by acidyo.

I was checking your wallet and noticed you also use conversation to convert hbd to hive. It's only recommended when market liquidity is low. Since your hbd to hive is within what liquidity can handle, I will recommend u to use hivedex.io

It will save you from FEE/CUT and u don't have to wait for 3 days as well.

Oh, I wasn't aware of this battle... I'm not a big fan of the downvote system. Looking at the account, it's true that my delegation is rather counterproductive for Hive.
Thank you for all this information and tip.
Have a great day

Autumn at its best. Beautiful!🍂

Nice pictures. I love getting out in nature this time of year. The weather is still nice and the trees look good even past the peak. I read up a little on the history. Always interesting to learn about our past even if the stories change a bit in the telling over time.
