The world has fallen into chaos. Months have turned into years. Famine, plague, and evil have struck down a single man. No one knows the exact reason why the world has collapsed and zombies have wiped out any trace of humanity.

A few days ago, someone commented on one of my posts that I had read many manhwas. The truth is, I haven’t shared all the stories I’ve read. Return Survival is a manhwa I read in 2023, and it’s already completed. The story has more than 190 episodes.
The genre of this manhwa is regression. The protagonist returns to the past after being killed by a wave of zombies. Suddenly, the world became infested with zombies, and it perished rapidly. People didn’t know if it was a virus or the apocalypse. What is certain is that the protagonist dies and then opens his eyes in the past—specifically, six months before the catastrophe.
Yohan prepares for what’s coming. He buys a house and stores a large amount of supplies before the world completely collapses. There, he trains his body and gets ready to face the apocalypse.
When I first read the story, I found it interesting: a young man returns to the past to avoid death in the modern world. As the story progresses, the protagonist's personality becomes colder—eventually resembling who he was before he died. Any trace of humanity vanishes quickly.
In this story, the government completely collapses. No trace of it remains. People must fight and overcome their fears in order to survive. The survival setting is constantly tense, pushing each character to their limits.

This time, the apocalypse occurs earlier than Yohan expected. The zombies begin spreading quickly—biting and devouring people. The story becomes even more interesting when the protagonist decides to leave his house and fight. He chooses to create a combat unit to fight back against the zombies.
Yohan now tries to uncover the reason why the world has been overrun by zombies. Is it a virus or divine judgment? The answer lies within the story. The battles are hard to watch. The artwork is raw—not aesthetically polished. By that, I mean the illustrations have rough, sketch-like strokes. After all, it’s an older manhwa.
One of the key elements shown in the plot are the zombie waves. These occur in areas where humans have gathered in large numbers—something similar to what we see in TV series or films. Yohan wants to live six months in his home peacefully, without judgment, while planning to create a team of superhumans capable of facing any threat.
He must form this unit before the rise of the Korean Resistance—a powerful but hostile movement. In a chaotic world, there are no rights. Food and water are luxuries. Humans must fend for themselves.
The first person the protagonist decides to save is Kang Gunn. In a world where all traces of humanity are lost, small acts of sacrifice become very significant. However, this can change. The story portrays betrayal and how the characters’ hearts become corrupted by the fear of death and the oppressive, bleak environment.

This manhwa is not easy to read, but as a seinen, it’s worth it due to its diversity and depth. The quality of the story is tight and compact. Moreover, it doesn’t save characters just because they’re necessary. What’s most impactful is watching how the protagonist evolves as every trace of his humanity is erased.

I hope you enjoy this story. It is a very good manhwa and it is finished.
I felt a strange kind of pressure while reading the story. It was as if Yohan was fighting a battle not just with zombies, but also with himself. I liked the review.
Indeed, that is the way it is. He fights with himself. In this new opportunity he must not die and must discover the origin of everything.
Interesting story, maybe he can change the future as he is back in the past. I like zombie related stories it's fun. Amazing presentation would like to read it someday.🌷
Zombie stories are great. I really like this one. I can't tell you if it changes it or not would be spoiler hahahaha. But the plot is very interesting. It's a manhwa that is culminated. Ago favorable.
Zombie related things are always my things. This manwha's story is very long as it has 190 episodes. I must check it out. Thanks for sharing.
The story is very good. The number of episodes is not something out of this world. It has an impact on you. :)
