Young, beautiful, and brilliant. A woman burdened with an inescapable responsibility—one that reaches beyond what she herself can change. Equality lingers, duty reigns, in the midst of a harsh feeling that fractures and corrodes the heart.

The Fantasie of a Stepmother is a dramatic and suspenseful manhwa that explores the life of Shuri. The manhwa is illustrated by ORKA and written by Hyangshinlo Nyangiwa. I highlight these two details because they form a perfect combination. The script and the artwork evoke the same emotional depth as the song "Tear 'Singularity' Comeback" performed by V of BTS.
The art of the manhwa is suffocating, dark, and corrosive. That darkness gives everything a sense of nobility—yet also pain. Yes, the visuals of this manhwa convey a sharp sorrow, akin to agony. Very few stories succeed in blending illustration and narrative so powerfully to express the emotions of the main character.
The plot centers around Shuri’s life as a stepmother. Shuri von Neuschwanstein marries Marquis Johannes von Neuschwanstein. She becomes a widow at just 16 years old and is left in charge of the marquisate and the marquis’s four children.
As the plot progresses, it is revealed why the marquis chose to marry someone so young. It was solely out of a desire for protection and support. The marquis, known for his wisdom, believed Shuri would do everything to protect his children.
Especially Jeremy von Neuschwanstein, the future head of the family. Shuri fulfilled this duty, but on the day of Jeremy’s wedding, she was murdered—after not even being invited to the ceremony and having never been called “mother” by her stepchildren.

Shuri then opens her eyes seven years in the past. Yes—on the very day her husband had died, and she had become one of the empire’s most important nobles. Given this second chance, Shuri is determined not to repeat her past mistakes. She wants to protect her children and give them what they never had: love. All through a genuine familial bond.
The narrative skillfully weaves in themes of family and the burdens of aristocracy during a critical era. Responsibility becomes the moral compass and guiding path that Shuri, as marquess, must follow. Her name obligates her to maintain control and uphold her standing among the nobility and the Church. Losing that power would mean the fall of House von Neuschwanstein.
The nobles see Shuri as someone they can break or trample, but her profound nobility rises above all. Prince Theobold von Baden Mismarck takes an interest in her—making him the story’s antagonist.
The true male lead is Norra von Nürnberger, the rebellious son of Duke Albrecht and Duchess Heidi von Nürnberger. Norra grows up defiant, deprived of his parents’ love. The one responsible? Prince Theobold von Baden Mismarck. When Norra witnesses Shuri’s genuine affection for each of the marquis’s children, he feels drawn to her. A noble feeling, one that beats strongly in his heart.
Shuri’s four stepchildren are Jeremy von Neuschwanstein (the eldest), the stubborn Elias von Neuschwanstein, and the twins Rachel and Leon von Neuschwanstein. Each of them has a unique personality and distinct traits. Jeremy is the only one with blond hair—an inherited trait tied to the bloodline of the marquisate.

Shuri now has a second chance—and she’s trying everything. That “everything” begins with transforming herself and helping her children grow. Her goal this time is to protect them and give them what she couldn’t in her previous life. The reason for her murder remains unclear, but it seems to be tied to her becoming a symbol of extreme nobility and purity—something dangerous in the eyes of the Church.

Joven, hermosa y brillante.

Especially the way you portray the emotions of the story, the depth of the character and the dark sweetness of the imagery are truly amazing. I think this kind of analysis not only tells a reader the story but also teaches the feeling inside. Best wishes to you.
The way the manhwa is drawn and developed is very attractive. It emits unique emotions, few stories are like this one. I think it is a very well developed plot that shows the way the protagonist wants to vindicate herself.
Shuri's character is very strong and inspiring. Her decision to learn from her mistakes and provide love and protection for her children is truly commendable. The review was great.
Indeed, she is a very brave woman. She is the clear representation of human courage and strength. Thank you for your visit.

Excellent publication. Best regards.
Thank you very much. :)
UF, what intense and dramatic story. I didn't know this Manhwa at all, but you have left me with a crazy desire to read it. The premise is super powerful: a life of sacrifice so that in the end they kill it in that way ... and suddenly, to have a second chance to try to create a real bond with them. It sounds heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. And what you say about art, which is so dark and transmits so much the character of the character, seems to me a pass. I sign it but now! Thanks for the super recommendation.
It's a manhwa with a lot of identity. The art is crazy and the plot is very well crafted. The darkness hits you and keeps you entertained. She herself admits that she was unfair. In one way or another she feels guilty. That guilt provokes reflection.
The darkness conveys the character's emotions, guilt, pain and resentment. If you read the manhwa you will understand. Thanks for stopping by.
Getting a second chance and deciding to protect her children instead of moving on is truly a brave decision. Interesting review
It's a decision she made and it's a very noble one indeed. It goes beyond what I myself can predict. You can say it's lovely.
