Hi everyone. Well, I joined a little late to this interesting challenge nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for October: SPIRITS

Taking advantage of the mysterious date of the year, I decided to bring this horror character with a long tradition in my country, which has been part of the stories of many towns for over a hundred years.

El SILBON is a legendary figure in Venezuelan folklore, representing the tormented soul of a young man condemned for murdering his father. “In some stories, it is said that he consumed his entrails.”

His grandfather, horrified, orders him to be whipped and curses him to carry his father's bones for eternity.
His spirit wanders around carrying a sack with the bones and emitting a mournful whistle, collecting souls and slaughtering his victims.
His whistle has a paradox: if you hear it close by, it is far away; if you hear it far away, it is close by.

A couple of years ago, I designed this character using MIXAMO FUSE software and transformed it in PHOTOSHOP to simulate the appearance of the EL SILBON.

While checking my PC, I came across the folder where I store this file, and today I decided to make some adjustments to the image. As you can see, I changed the hue and saturation a little, lengthened his arms and fingers, and gave him a more hunched posture to bring him more into the morphology as described in the stories and I created an abstract background representing a kind of portal from which it appears to terrify those who happen to encounter this creepiness. I did this in PHOTOSHOP by cutting the image and transforming and distorting it, illustrating with brushes and using layer blends, presets and color grading.
