Hello everyone and welcome once again to my art blog! I'm Lorentm, a passionate digital artist who loves merging pop culture with anime aesthetics. In this post, I'm continuing my fan art series inspired by viral TikTok videos. This time, I bring you something quite unique and whimsical: a majestic crane dressed in the attire of the Akatsuki from Naruto. I call it “Akatsuki Crane.”
Creating this piece was both fun and challenging. It felt like a humorous but respectful tribute to the Naruto universe. The crane stands proudly on a wooden post at sunset, wings extended wide as if preparing to take flight or assert its dominance. It wears the iconic black cloak with red clouds, symbolizing the feared organization Akatsuki, and even dons the recognizable ninja headband—tied securely around its head. The contrast between the serenity of the bird and the intimidating look of the outfit creates a delightful clash that made this piece extra special to draw.

En esta entrada continúo con mi serie de fan arts inspirados en videos virales de TikTok. En esta ocasión les traigo algo muy especial y divertido: una majestuosa grulla vestida con la indumentaria de los Akatsuki de Naruto. La he llamado “Grulla Akatsuki”.
Crear esta pieza fue divertido y a la vez un reto interesante. Sentí que era un homenaje humorístico pero también respetuoso al universo de Naruto. La grulla se posa con orgullo sobre un poste de madera al atardecer, con las alas extendidas como si estuviera a punto de alzar vuelo o imponerse ante su entorno. Lleva el clásico manto negro con nubes rojas, emblema del temido grupo Akatsuki, y también la icónica banda ninja atada con firmeza sobre su cabeza. El contraste entre la serenidad del ave y la fuerza intimidante del atuendo genera un choque visual encantador que hizo que este dibujo fuera aún más especial de crear.
The “Akatsuki Crane” is a fictional mashup character inspired by the anime Naruto and a humorous trend seen on TikTok. The idea of combining elegant animals with anime villain aesthetics is something that instantly sparked my imagination. In this case, the crane, a symbol of grace and balance, wears the dark cloak of one of the most iconic rogue ninja groups in anime history. It transforms the normally peaceful creature into a silent, dramatic figure standing against the sunset sky.
La “Grulla Akatsuki” es un personaje ficticio que nace de la fusión entre el anime Naruto y una tendencia humorística que vi en TikTok. La idea de combinar animales elegantes con la estética de villanos del anime despertó de inmediato mi imaginación. En este caso, la grulla, símbolo de gracia y equilibrio, lleva el manto oscuro de uno de los grupos de ninjas renegados más icónicos de la historia del anime. Esto convierte a la criatura, normalmente pacífica, en una figura silenciosa y dramática recortada contra el cielo del atardecer.
Process / Proceso
Everything began with the sketch. I visualized the crane with its wings wide open, standing confidently atop a wooden post. The pose needed to feel heroic yet slightly comical, so I played with the silhouette until I got the balance just right. The design of the cloak and the positioning of the headband were key to making the character immediately recognizable to Naruto fans.
Todo comenzó con el boceto. Visualicé a la grulla con las alas extendidas, parada con confianza sobre un poste de madera. La pose debía sentirse heroica pero con un toque cómico, así que trabajé en la silueta hasta encontrar el equilibrio justo. El diseño del manto y la colocación de la banda ninja fueron esenciales para que el personaje fuera reconocible de inmediato por los fans de Naruto.
Once I had the sketch ready, I moved on to the lineart. I made sure the outlines were clean and dynamic, with smooth curves for the feathers and sharper angles for the cloak. The line work needed to guide the viewer’s eye while maintaining a solid anime style.
Una vez que tuve el boceto listo, pasé al delineado. Me aseguré de que las líneas fueran limpias y dinámicas, con curvas suaves para las plumas y ángulos más marcados para el manto. El trabajo de línea debía guiar la mirada del espectador y al mismo tiempo mantener un estilo fiel al anime.
The coloring stage brought everything to life. I used a palette that blends the natural colors of a crane—white and black—with the deep reds and blacks of the Akatsuki cloak. The red lining along the feathers and cloak adds a nice visual contrast and ties the entire concept together.
La etapa del color le dio vida a todo. Utilicé una paleta que combinara los colores naturales de una grulla —blanco y negro— con los rojos profundos y negros del manto Akatsuki. El borde rojo en las plumas y en el manto añade un contraste visual agradable y ayuda a unificar todo el concepto.
Next, I added shadows to enhance the volume and realism. The lighting comes from the setting sun, casting warm shadows on the crane’s feathers and body. This helped ground the character in the environment and gave it a bit more drama.
Luego apliqué las sombras para aumentar el volumen y el realismo. La luz proviene del sol poniente, lo que genera sombras cálidas sobre las plumas y el cuerpo de la grulla. Esto ayudó a integrar mejor al personaje en el ambiente y aportó un poco más de dramatismo.
To finish off the character, I added highlights. I focused especially on the cloak’s folds and the shine on the feathers’ edges, using soft lighting to keep the style consistent. These small touches brought more depth and movement to the illustration.
Para finalizar al personaje, añadí brillos. Me enfoqué especialmente en los pliegues del manto y en el brillo de los bordes de las plumas, usando luces suaves para mantener la coherencia del estilo. Estos pequeños detalles añadieron más profundidad y dinamismo a la ilustración.
Finally, the background: I wanted a warm sunset sky, filled with soft orange clouds that echoed the color scheme of the cloak. The wooden post and the slightly tilted horizon added just enough context to make the scene feel like a dramatic anime opening shot.
Finalmente, el fondo: quise crear un cielo cálido al atardecer, lleno de nubes suaves en tonos anaranjados que reflejaran la paleta del manto. El poste de madera y el horizonte ligeramente inclinado aportan el contexto necesario para que la escena parezca sacada de una intro dramática de anime.

This piece was such a joy to create. It allowed me to combine humor, anime references, and elegance into one single illustration. I really enjoyed pushing the concept of what a “fan art” can be—something lighthearted, creative, and rooted in fandom culture. I hope this drawing brings a smile to your face as much as it did to mine while making it!
Esta obra fue un verdadero placer de crear. Me permitió combinar humor, referencias al anime y elegancia en una sola ilustración. Disfruté mucho explorar lo que puede llegar a ser un “fan art”: algo divertido, creativo y que nace del amor por la cultura del fandom. ¡Espero que este dibujo te saque una sonrisa tanto como me la sacó a mí mientras lo creaba!
