Hello everyone!

Hey! Hope you’re doing well and enjoying your days. Today is Children’s Day, and I’m not sure if it’s an international or national holiday where I am, but apparently, it’s now a full public holiday. I don’t know when that started because I remember going to work or university on this day before and complaining about it. Meanwhile, Women’s Day isn’t a public holiday—why is that? Is there even a Men’s Day?

Anyway, I’ve been feeding my fantasy with original character designs, and here’s one I made:

It has very earthy, forest vibes going on. It reminded me that it’s been a long time since I watched a good fantasy movie—not counting Japanese animations like The Heron and the Boy(watched it in March), which was visually pleasing but pretty average overall. I mean real fantasy, like Narnia or Lord of the Rings. And now that I think about it, most of my favorites are from the 2010s or earlier. What happened to the fantasy genre lately? Oh yeah, Dune happened, but I’m still too traumatized by how the books ended to really get into it but I heard the acting was pretty good in the first movie.

Is fantasy losing its spark in the movie industry? Definitely not with the likes of Game of Thrones and the recent House of Dragons. But what about movies? If you’ve come across any new fantasy gems lately let me know.
