This time I don't want to talk about a place that is excited or viral , but instead a place that is silent , cool , and full of meaning.. The name is Klangon , or more fully Bukit Klangon , which is in the Cangkringan area , Sleman , Yogyakarta.. Honestly , this place is perfect for those of you who want to "disappear for a while" . Where is it...?
- Klangon (Bukit Klangon)
Once you enter this area , the atmosphere is immediately different.. The air is really cool , especially if you're used to hanging out in the city.. The wind sweeps slowly , the tall trees become whispering friends.. Seriously , here you will feel nature is not noisy but invites chatting...
Klangon is located at an altitude of around 1,100 meters above sea level , so it's no wonder the air here is clean and cool.. In the morning or evening , you can get a thin fog that makes the atmosphere even more calm..
- 👀 Direct View of Merapi
What gives you goosebumps (in a positive sense) , this place directly faces Mount Merapi**... If you're lucky and the sky is clear, you can see Merapi standing majestically , clearly... But when I was there , the clouds were covering the peak ... It's okay though , there's a sense of mystique to it..
Sometimes we don't need to see everything clearly to feel close.. And Merapi taught me one thing : silence is also a way of speaking..
- 📸 The Spot is Ordinary , But the Taste is Extraordinary
Don't imagine this place is full of selfie spots with colorful neon.. Klangon is very simple.. But that's exactly what makes me like it..
The writing is big , the back is grass and trees.. There is a dirt road , a few small stalls , and an observation post building.. But since the place is open , you can sit anywhere while looking at the sky , listening to the wind , and letting your mind rest for a while..
If you bring a camera or just a cellphone , you can still get great results.. Especially if you know how to capture moments , not just objects..
- 💰 HTM? Doesn't make your pocket cry
What I like about Klangon too : not commercial.. When I was there , there was no entrance fee.. Just pay for parking , around IDR 3,000-10,000 depending on the vehicle .
For that price , getting a view of Merapi , clean air , and inner peace..? Totally worth it..
- 🚦 Road Access: Not Difficult But Must Be Prepared
From Jogja , Klangon is only about 1 hour by motorcycle.. The road is already good , but as you get closer to the upper area , there's a decent incline.. If you're riding an automatic motorcycle , make sure it's fit and the brakes are working properly.. Don't push it if it's raining , as it can be slippery..
Personal advice: Leave early to get fresh air and get home before the fog descends..
- 🙏 A Place to Be Still and Grateful
“Sometimes we too often look for crowded places to feel alive , even though tranquility can also provide deeper energy..”
Here in Klangon , I learned to take a deep breath , look at the sturdy Merapi , and say to myself : "Thank you , God.. I can still see all this.. "
For me , traveling doesn't have to be far or expensive.. As long as we are fully present in one place , it's enough to make our hearts happy..
If you go to Jogja and want a place that is not marketable but has a deep impression , Klangon could be the right choice.. Not complicated , not expensive , but full of flavor..
And for Hive friends who like to explore places that are not just tourist destinations but also reflection spaces , try coming here once.. Who knows , you might discover something you've never encountered before-in yourself..
See you in the next installment of my travel notes..
If you've been here before , tell me about it in the comments..
Or suggest a place that's quiet but meaningful...? 🌱
Greetings for a meaningful walk,

Ordinary places have their own magic and charm. I like Mount Merapi is really nice. The nature is beautiful and imposing.
Perfect to disconnect.
Thank you, @nerue! 😊
Yes, even the simplest places can give us a sense of peace and awe.
Mount Merapi truly has its own majestic presence — and Klangon Hill is the perfect spot to feel close to it and just disconnect for a while.

This place has a magic in it — this is just my opinion my dear haha! But anyways, this view reminds me our mountain. The calming view, the birds singing and the air that touches my skin. I should visit this too! Have a great day ahead!
Thank you so much , my friend! 😊
Yes , I totally agree — Klangon Hill really has that magical vibe , especially in the morning when the mist hugs the forest and Merapi stands tall in silence..
