The park containing historic entrances and ruins 📷 Malaga - Spain

Sometimes places, or almost always, have stories not only for me, but they have very old stories and they are evidenced somewhere. I think that's what I like most about finding things like this, the history.

The first time I visited this place I did it practically at night and it was about to close, I remember it was almost 10 pm and the park was beautifully illuminated, but I soon had to leave.

The second time I was there, I have the most beautiful memories and they will remain engraved in my history, because it was a great walk with my family and my uncles, the last walk I took with my aunt before she got sick and I never saw her again.

As you can see, a place can be simple or plain and contain a deep history. This often happens with the different corners of this city.

This is not a park that stands out or is the best park in the city, at least at first glance, but it holds stories, mine and the city's, stories that you don't see much, but they are there.

The first thing I noticed when I visited is that San Miguel Park is right next to the historic San Miguel cemetery. A cemetery that I will tell you about another time but which has a lot of history, dating back many years, precisely to the 19th century.

Part of the cemetery was given to the city council to create this park, which is right next to a school, so in the afternoon it is full of children playing and running all over the place, as well as being the place chosen by the neighbourhood to walk their pets. Many people at all times of the day go for a walk in the park with their dogs.

The park is designed on several levels and is criss-crossed by many paths where the highest area joins the historical cemetery, although the accesses to the cemetery, which are doors or gates, are closed. There is only one access left, but it is not direct.

Walking through this upper area gave me views of the lower part of the park, but also of the various stairways, gates, railings and the vegetation that surrounds it, the shrubs in flower at this time of year and the tall trees along the path.

20250507_153223.jpg

As I was telling you, the park is distributed on different levels and between them there are stairs and ramps, as well as paths.

In the lower part of the park there are two children's playgrounds which are connected to each other. There are several beautiful games, especially a central game in the shape of a castle, from which several slides start. It is very attractive for the children and, being in the centre of this area, it stands out from the rest.

In the second part of the playground there are swings on a green rubber mat for the care of the children and all around there are many seats for parents accompanying their children. It is ideal that this part of the park is right next to the school.

20250507_152418.jpg

There is also an area with ball courts and football pitches where the children can have a lot of fun.

20250507_152513.jpg

20250507_152355.jpg

I enjoyed walking through the different paths and appreciating the variety of trees and bushes around me, although there are areas of the park that have no shade and the sun in summer is intense.

20250507_152238.jpg

Also in the lower area there is like a bar, or a place where you can have a drink and a bite to eat, a place of relaxation, especially in the afternoon and part of the evening.

20250507_154353.jpg

20250507_154416.jpg

On an intermediate level there is another football pitch where the older children can play and it is located in one of the corners of the park in the middle of several paths and right next to one of the entrances to the park.

20250507_154108.jpg

20250507_154344.jpg

There are many entrances to the park, and all of them are full of beautiful flowers that decorate every step inside the park. It is the shadiest part of the park and there I found the bushes with the most flowers, very varied in colour.

20250507_154019.jpg

20250507_153141.jpg

20250507_153209.jpg

All the paths are lined with lanterns, which at night offer the opportunity to visit the park and take a pleasant walk.

Now, for me the most important thing is the connection between the cemetery and the park, and it was at this point that I found the wonder that I always hope to discover.

Some ruins, the ruins that I believe are the first gates of the cemetery dating back to 1895 as it is stated right there on the gate. Of that only they are left, the ruined gates, but they are preserved and they are the ones that link a passage between the two sectors.

20250507_153931.jpg

From there there is a small path to a viewpoint, I climbed it to see what I could find and the views were of the northern part of the city as well as the park.

20250507_165457.jpg

Finding these places where history is present, even if it is in some old ruined gates, is worth it, as an urban exploration that I never know where it will take me.

Thank you very much for joining me today in this new discovery of the city. I send you my best regards, see you soon.

This park is really beautiful, especially the natural beauty here is very evident, which is what I like the most.

It's a nice park to walk around and see the ruins, thank you very much!

Good evening my friend, I strongly agreewith your experience, when visiting a very historical place, I also feel the same way, and spend time in that place, the garden looks very beautiful and the history is very amazing I really like it my friend ❤️🙏

Thank you very much for reading and admiring the photos!🤗

You're welcome my friend❤️🙏

A beautiful AV park and wonderful photographs, I liked the photos of the facades, very pretty

Travelling around the city always leads me to discover something new and in this case this park with these ruins. Thank you very much!

Hi @avdesing, well there is already a park with stories for me too. I liked the tour, although I think I will like the cemetery post better.

Thanks for this walk. Best regards.

I assure you that the cemetery is great and yesterday I visited another one... but quite different and shocking for me. Thank you!!!

Good morning @avdesing, sorry for coming in so late. Yesterday I was with Nina and other Hive friends with the Pizza day and I enter now in Hive.

Hola, me encantan los parques, los arboles y los juegos recreativos, nice fotos my lady.😀

Thank you so much Cholito!!😃

Beautiful park without a doubt and your photos. Already the amount of flowers indicate the beginning of summer. Come back someday and I know you will when it is full of kids and people enjoying, you will enjoy it too. Plus memories you will never forget.
I still enjoyed the ride with you something I never imagined, thanks friend @avdesing . Have a great weekend, love.🥰🤗

I like to walk, hike and discover this kind of places. Thanks to you always.💗

The cemetery is so old with antiquated architectural style that reminds me of the southern US and Mexico. Very cool!

This playground looks like a work of art. Everything in Malaga looks like a work of art to me 😄

Soon I will bring the cemetery... it is wonderful you will see and there is another one that has an incredible story... Thanks!

Right on. I look forward to seeing it.

Gracias!!

Beautiful views of a place made to detail... and I also like the connection with the cemetery and how they left that evidence there.
Well... you're sure to bring us some more of your research. For the moment it has been very pleasant, as always, this walk. 😃

I don't know if everyone will like it but I love cemeteries, pure mystery, I will definitely bring it... it's great!!! hahaha thanks!!!!🤗

This is such a touching post. It's amazing how a seemingly simple place like San Miguel Park can be so rich with personal history and deep memories. Thank you for sharing your experience, especially about the poignant detail about your aunt. It truly highlights that the best places aren't always the most grand, but the ones that hold our stories.

Thank you very much to you for reading me, that park has that special memory for me and the beautiful ruins.🤗

I love how you described the park, not just as a place, but as something full of memories and history. Sometimes the places that seem the most ordinary end up holding the deepest connections. Such a lovely read.

Thank you for reading and yes it is just as you say, a beautiful place and also because of the ruins. Thank you!🤗

You're welcome!😍

I love how places hold memories and stories, not just for you but for the city too. I’ve never been there, but now I really want to visit. It feels peaceful and full of history.

It's a park that looks simple but those ruins make it special and the personal experience, thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful pictures and this story, @avdesing ! I also think that what makes a place more beautiful than it already is, is knowing the history/ the story behind it. How it came to what we now know it as. And the way that you shared it with us is really such a treat! I look forward to hearing more of your travel stories! And all the best! =)

What makes places special are the experiences. Thank you very much!

Hello dear friend @avdesing, how are you?

This is definitely a place to visit with your loved ones. Besides enjoying the beauty, you strengthen family ties.

I would spend hours walking through this beautiful park. What beautiful photographs you've taken. I appreciate you sharing.

Have a wonderful day.

It's a beautiful park with pleasant memories, and it also has those ruins that I love. Thank you!

Good morning, Amonet.

What a beautiful place full of history. While I love everything about this place, I found the children's area extraordinary.

The views from there are unbeatable, beautiful photographs.

Have a beautiful day.

Thank you very very much @miprimerconcurso 🤗

I love how you take us on a tour of Malaga with you. It is beautiful the city where you live and I think you have discovered a lot and there is still more to discover. Thanks for sharing!!! 🤗

Me queda mucho por recorrer, poco a poco quiero conocerla toda y luego los pueblos cercanos, gracias!

Oh my! historical park in Spain, I love it. I love how you appreciate the park by taking photos of that perfect place. It captivates me of its beauty. I hope I can go there since Spain is one of the country in my bucket list that I want to travel with. Have a great day ahead and enjoy your trip. More travels to come. Greetings from the Philippines.

There are beautiful parks and even more historic ones. I'll be there soon. Thank you so much!

it is true that there are always stories that we can keep and reminisce about especially if you are with your loved one - it's a thing that you will cherish forever even if they gone in this world.

And as I go though every pictures, I'm captivated how these surroundings are, they look tidy and they gave the feeling of calmness - a good place to relax the mind, body, and soul. Another thing is that, every area gives a vibe of invitation - those flowers, those buildings, and green grasses and trees. Who would have thought, through this blogging, I can see a lot of breathtaking sceneries. I really enjoyed every pictured you shared. I would love to read your blog again. Thanks for sharing. God bless!

Thank you for reading and viewing this post, best regards!🤗
