Summer is still ongoing here in the Philippines, it means it's still the ideal time to visit the beach! I'm excited to share everything about our recent trip to the stunning Virgin Island in this blog.
The Virgin Island is not your usual vibrant tourist destination. It is a tiny unpopulated island located close to Panglao in province of Bohol. You may have known of it previously as it was once very well known for its famous floating cottages. These cottages provided a wonderful opportunity for visitors to savor fresh, local seafood and beverages directly by the water. It even became a trending topic online few years back, though not because of positive reasons, as there were some accusations of overpricing. Sadly, because of that, the floating cottages and other local businesses were stopped, and they were no longer there when we visited.

Even without the floating cottages, Virgin Island remains an absolute paradise. Imagine a spacious sandbar stretching out into the clear blue waters, with seemingly nothing much to do but simply exist in the moment. And honestly, that's what makes this island unique! It's a perfect place where you can truly disconnect from the noise of the world and lie down on the soft sand sunbathe and soak in the breathtaking surroundings. The water is incredibly shallow and clear, making it perfect for wading and just enjoying the coolness against your skin.

We brought our kids along for this trip, and let me tell you, this shallow water and pristine sandbar became their ultimate happy place. Our little ones aren't exactly strong swimmers, but here, they could run and play across the entire island without any worries about drowning. It felt like a massive, natural playground designed just for them! Witnessing their happiness as they splashed and darted across the vast sandbank was truly invaluable. They had ample room to explore, construct sandcastles, and simply enjoy the liberating atmosphere of the open air and soft waves.

Virgin Island not just offer pretty scenery, it also offers a beautiful experience. It is a chance to reconnect with nature, enjoy simple pleasures, and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones and family. If you're looking for a peaceful escape where the kids can safely run freely and you can truly unwind, this island is definitely worth adding to your Bohol itinerary.

Well my friends that's a wrap on our quick peek at Virgin Island in Bohol! Honestly, putting this post together and seeing our pictures just makes me want to grab my things and get right back to that gorgeous sandbar. Finding a place where the only thing to do was simply to be there and exist was such a refreshing experience. Moments we will truly keep when there was only sunshine and soft sand, and the delightful sound of children having the time of their lives.
I appreciate you reading! Thank you for being here with me today and I hope to see you on our next journey!
