Hello dear Hivers in the Worldmappin community, today my friend, Mayar, and I had the opportunity to return to Vi Ro Ngheo. Vi Ro Ngheo means the village hidden deep in the forest. As its name suggests, it is an isolated village of the Xo Dang people, surrounded by mountains and primeval forests. Vi Ro Ngheo is located about 50km from the center of the mountainous town of Mang Den.
We had departed from Mang Den the previous afternoon at 1pm. And because the road to get there was bad, it took us about 5 hours for that 50km journey. When we arrived at the village, it was dark and raining. We only had time to take care of our personal hygiene and have dinner with the locals before resting.
And our village exploration actually began the next morning. After a long journey and a good night's sleep, we woke up quite early at 6am. After having breakfast with instant noodles at a small restaurant in the village, we were led by two local girls around the village and up the hill behind the village.
The slope leading up the hill was quite steep. The two local girls walked quickly, while we were quite slow and tired. They always went ahead and waited for us. And after about 30 minutes of walking up the slope, we finally reached the top of the hill, and our reward was a panoramic view of the village and the beautiful primeval forest. And during that trip, we heard many interesting stories about the village. We had a great experience there. If you have the opportunity to come to Mang Den, do not hesitate to contact me, I will take you there.
