Surprise at the airport, unexpected stay in Muscat

Hello, friends, travellers around the world, and community greetings!
Today's post is about our unexpected surprise gift. When we were at the Goa airport, we couldn’t get our boarding passes for the connecting flight. We were informed that we would need to collect them at Muscat airport, as we were traveling with Oman Air and the first stop was in Muscat.

Unfortunately, our baggage could not be sent to Norway because the airline couldn’t find our flights. Upon arriving at Muscat airport, we were confused about what to do next. Should we follow the transit signs or go to the arrivals area?

We approached the help desk and inquired about our next flight to Munich, but the staff there seemed just as confused as we were.

Fortunately, the ground crew was very friendly and cooperative. One by one, four different people assisted us, and after two hours of waiting, they discovered that there were no flights to Munich that day. They informed us that we would be booked on the next day's flight and provided us with a hotel for 24 hours, with two options: 1st is an airport hotel where we had quick access, or 2nd is in the town we should wait for them to make the booking and transport formalities. we chose an in-town instead airport hotel. The hotel included three meals. And they provided us with a free tourist visa.

After the immigration desk, we got a 1-week tourist visa to enter the town.

The organization was impressive; they took care of our baggage and kept it in a safe place until the next day. Although a few of the ground crew members had difficulty communicating, we were fortunate to be assisted by a very competent staff member who took care of us until we got into the car sent by the hotel.

The airport is located in Seeb, which is about 30 km from the old capital city of Oman, Muscat. The Seeb was a desert previously and devloped very fast after Oman got good economic condition after oil business. Our hotel was 10 minutes away from airport.

The roads and residences are very organized. Everybody is following the rules and regulations.

Some dry mountains and more nice mosques on the one side.

The other side is open sandy land, but sure, after a few years it will get developed and get nice buildings.

Passing through the airport road, I noticed many nice buildings beside the road, most of which were white. When I asked the driver, he mentioned that those buildings are reflecting sunlight, keeping the buildings cooler in the hot climate.

And finally, we arrived at the hotel around 2 pm. The CITY SEASON HOTEL

The staff was very friendly and warmly welcomed us. The main receptionist told us we should go to the dining room to have our lunch. Meanwhile, she would arrange our bureaucratic formalities.

While passing through, I just clicked a few photos of the reception hall.

The dinner hall was full of guests. But I got one very good place to see the outside view.

After enjoying a delicious lunch, I wanted to take more photos of the hotel and its surroundings. Meanwhile, my husband was eager to collect the room key, as he was very tired from the hassle at the airport and wanted to take a nap.

I haven't taken photos of our room, imagine the quality. It was good standard, very nice, clean, and comfortable.

After walking around, I also felt very tired and came back to the hotel to take a nap so we could refresh and go around the town.
After 1 1-hour nap, we went to explore Muscat more.
