Argentina - A short trip to Villa General Belgrano: the sunny day accompanied us on a nice morning walk. / Pequeña escapada hasta Villa General Belgrano: el día soleado nos acompañó en un buen paseo matutino. 😃❤️

My dad is one of those people who, even on vacation, can't help but wake up early. I don't like getting up that early, but for a trip, this was a good idea if we wanted to make the most of the day. Since he was always up first, he would wake me up and announce the weather forecast, as if encouraging me to get up and do something. This was good for us, allowing us to visit other places near our apartment in Santa Rosa, Córdoba, like Villa General Belgrano, a place he was eager to see 😃.

Mi papá es de esas personas que, aunque estén de vacaciones, no pueden dejar de levantarse temprano. A mí no me gusta madrugar tanto, pero en el contexto de un paseo esto nos venía bien por si queríamos aprovechar el día al máximo. Como él siempre estaba arriba primero, se encargaba de despertarme y anunciarme el pronóstico, como incentivandome a que también me levantara para hacer algo. Esto fue bueno para poder ir a visitar otros lugares cercanos a nuestro departamento en Santa Rosa, Córdoba, como Villa General Belgrano, un lugar que él tenía ganas de conocer 😃.

The good thing about staying in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita was that we were in the middle of several interesting places. Plus, we were just a few blocks from the bus station, so getting around was very easy. If we wanted to make the most of the day, it was best to take the first buses in the morning to get to the place we wanted to visit. In the case of Villa General Belgrano, there was a bus that left at 9 AM, and that was the one we took for our trip that day.

Lo bueno que tuvo hospedarnos en Santa Rosa de Calamuchita fue que estabamos en el medio de varios lugares interesantes. Además, estabamos a unas pocas cuadras de la terminal de micros, por lo que trasladarnos a algún otro lugar era muy sencillo. Si queríamos aprovechar bien el día, nos convenía tomar los primeros buses de la mañana para llegar al lugar que queríamos visitar. En el caso de Villa General Belgrano, había un bus que salía a las 9 AM, y ese fue el que tomamos para nuestro paseo de ese día.

For a ticket of 2,800 ARS ($2) and a 15-km, 2-minute drive, we were able to reach this place, another must-see stop if you're visiting Córdoba. Villa General Belgrano is one of the province's traditional cities and is renowned for its German architecture. It's also the main venue for the national Oktoberfest, so everything is geared toward this festival and beer. This festival used to be held in the main square, but the celebration has grown so much that a fairground has been set up exclusively for the event.

Por un ticket de 2800 ARS ($2), y un viaje de 15 km y 2 minutos, logramos llegar a este lugar, otra de las paradas casi obligatorias si estás de paseo por Córdoba. Villa General Belgrano es una de las ciudades tradicionales de esta provincia, y es reconocida por su arquitectura alemana. También es el escenario principal del Oktoberfest a nivel país, así que todo está orientado a esta festividad y a la cerveza. Antes hacían esta fiesta en la plaza principal, pero la celebración ha crecido tanto que se ha preparado un predio ferial exclusivamente para ese evento.

I had visited this city several times before, and had even gone with friends to Oktoberfest, but it was my dad's first time there. I was pleased to accompany him on this trip and that it lived up to his expectations. He likes picturesque towns like this one, so he was happy. He's not a big beer drinker, but during our time in this city, we bought several to give as souvenirs to the family. Beer was sold everywhere, of course, at an average of $2 to $3 per 250cc bottle. What do you think of this price?

Yo había visitado esta ciudad en varias ocasiones antes, e incluso había ido con amigos a la celebración del Oktoberfest, pero para mí papá era su primera vez ahí. Me gustó acompañarlo en este paseo y que haya cumplido con sus espectativas. A él le gustan los pueblos pintorescos como este, así que estaba feliz. Él no es gran bebedor de cerveza, pero en nuestro paso por esta ciudad compramos varias para regalar a la familia como souvenir. En todos lados vendían cerveza por supuesto, con un promedio de $2 a $3 por botella de 250cm3. ¿Qué piensan de este precio?

The day was truly beautiful, and I was glad I woke up early to go. We took advantage of the morning to explore the city streets, something my dad and I like to do. We walked around the town a lot, looking for a place to have lunch. Visiting this place is always lovely, and I love its aesthetic. Since it was a weekday and early in the morning, it was fairly quiet with tourists, so we were able to take a leisurely stroll and really appreciate the details.

El día realmente estaba hermoso y me alegré por haberme despertado temprano para ir. Aprovechamos la mañana para recorrer las calles de la ciudad, algo que a mi papá y a mí nos gusta hacer. Caminamos un montón entre los alrededores del pueblo, de paso buscando un lugar para almorzar. Visitar este lugar siempre es lindo, y la estética que tiene me encanta. Por ser día de semana y temprano estaba bastante tranquilo de turistas, por lo que pudimos dar un paseo relajado y apreciar bien los detalles.

We still didn't have any definite plans about what exactly to do in this place when there wasn't an Oktoberfest, but it didn't take long to find something to do. The tourist office had told us there was a small hill to climb, so that soon became our main plan. Luckily, my dad was already equipped with his hiking shoes, and we had to use them. Although his plan was to go for a walk around the city, he still put on his hiking boots: it was clear he knew me by now and that one way or another, the day was going to end with some mountaineering 😅.

Todavía no teníamos ningún plan definido sobre qué hacer exactamente en este lugar cuando no había Oktoberfest, pero no tardamos mucho en encontrar algo para hacer. En la oficina de turismo nos habían dicho que había un pequeño cerro para subir, así que pronto ese se convirtió en nuestro plan principal. Por suerte, mi papá ya estaba equipado con sus zapatillas de trekking y había que usarlas. Aunque su idea era ir a pasear por la ciudad, igualmente se puso sus zapatos para la montaña: se nota que ya me conoce y que de alguna forma u otra, el día iba a terminar con algo de montañismo 😅.
