La Virgen de la Paz: Monumento de grandeza espiritual, cultural y arquitectónica en Trujillo, Venezuela (Esp/Engl)

Hola amigos de la comunidad. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia significativa que viví recientemente: la visita a uno de los monumentos más icónicos y altos de América Latina, la majestuosa escultura de la Virgen de la Paz, ubicada en el estado Trujillo, en pleno corazón de la región andina venezolana.

Esta obra monumental no solo destaca por sus impresionantes dimensiones, sino también por su valor histórico, religioso y turístico. Es un sitio que mezcla naturaleza, arquitectura, fe, vistas espectaculares y una atmósfera de tranquilidad que se siente desde que uno empieza a ascender por el cerro El Perpetuo Socorro.

La escultura se encuentra aproximadamente a 11 km de la ciudad de Trujillo, a más de 1600 metros sobre el nivel del mar, rodeada de un entorno montañoso con vegetación típica de altura. El acceso se realiza por carretera, y el recorrido ya anticipa lo especial del lugar. En el trayecto se pueden apreciar caseríos pintorescos, paisajes andinos, y el clima fresco contribuye a crear una atmósfera perfecta para el paseo.
En cuanto a sus dimensiones y características posee:

Lo que llama especialmente la atención es que se trata de una escultura habitable. A diferencia de otras estatuas monumentales, esta puede recorrerse por dentro: cuenta con cin, conectados por escaleras, donde se han incorporado miradores y ventanas en formas simbólicas como estrellas. Desde algunos puntos se puede incluso mirar a través de los ojos de la Virgen, obteniendo una vista panorámica que en días despejados alcanza hasta el Lago de Maracaibo.

Importancia religiosa y cultural
Esta escultura representa a la Virgen de la Paz, patrona del estado Trujillo, y ha sido por décadas un símbolo de fe y devoción. Cada año, miles de personas llegan al lugar motivadas por promesas religiosas, turismo o el deseo de encontrar un espacio tranquilo para reflexionar. Además de ser un ícono espiritual, es también orgullo arquitectónico y cultural del estado y del país.

  Recorrido interno

• Primer nivel: espacio de bienvenida y acceso principal.
• Segundo nivel: comienzan las vistas elevadas al paisaje circundante.
• Tercer nivel: zona del corazón de la Virgen, desde donde se puede observar el entorno a través de sus ojos.
• Cuarto nivel: miradores amplios con ventanas en forma de estrella.
• Quinto nivel: punto más alto accesible, ideal para fotografía y contemplación.

Estar allí es algo más que visitar un lugar turístico. Es llegar a un sitio donde el silencio tiene presencia, el aire es limpio y la vista se extiende con una belleza majestuosa. Me impresionó la serenidad del entorno, la organización del espacio y el impacto visual de la escultura. Desde lo alto, uno puede contemplar el relieve de las montañas, los techos de las casas lejanas, y sentir una mezcla de humildad y asombro.

También observé cómo el monumento genera una experiencia colectiva: visitantes de todas las edades, algunos en oración, otros simplemente admirando, y muchos tomándose fotografías con rostros que mezclan emoción y respeto. Es un punto de encuentro entre lo espiritual y lo humano.
Los Horario de visita: generalmente desde la mañana hasta el atardecer.
Su Accesibilidad: hay zonas pavimentadas, estacionamiento, y guías disponibles algunos días.
Les Recomiendo: llevar abrigo por el clima fresco, cámara fotográfica, y estar preparado para subir escaleras.

La Virgen de la Paz no solo es la escultura más alta habitable de América Latina. Es también un punto de conexión entre el arte, la espiritualidad y la identidad venezolana. Recomiendo a todos quienes tengan la oportunidad que la visiten: no solo por la vista, sino por el impacto emocional que genera. Hello friends of the community. Today I want to share with you a significant experience I recently lived: the visit to one of the most iconic and tallest monuments in Latin America, the majestic sculpture of the Virgin of Peace, located in the state of Trujillo, in the heart of the Venezuelan Andean region.

This monumental work not only stands out for its impressive dimensions, but also for its historical, religious and touristic value. It is a site that blends nature, architecture, faith, spectacular views and an atmosphere of tranquility that can be felt from the moment one begins to ascend the Perpetual Help hill.

The sculpture is located approximately 11 km from the city of Trujillo, more than 1,600 meters above sea level, surrounded by a mountainous environment with typical high altitude vegetation. The access is by road, and the tour already anticipates the specialness of the place. Along the way you can appreciate picturesque villages, Andean landscapes, and the cool climate contributes to create a perfect atmosphere for the ride.

Every year, thousands of people come to the place motivated by religious promises, tourism or the desire to find a quiet space to reflect. • First level: welcome area and main entrance.
• Second level: elevated views of the surrounding landscape.
• Third level: area of the Virgin's heart, from where the surroundings can be observed through her eyes.
• Fourth level: wide viewpoints with star-shaped windows.
• Fifth level: highest accessible point, ideal for photography and contemplation.

Being there is more than just visiting a tourist site. It is to reach a place where silence is present, the air is clean and the view extends with majestic beauty. I was impressed by the serenity of the surroundings, the organization of the space and the visual impact of the sculpture. From the top, one can contemplate the relief of the mountains, the roofs of distant houses, and feel a mixture of humility and awe.

I also observed how the monument generates a collective experience: visitors of all ages, some in prayer, others simply admiring, and many taking pictures with faces that mix emotion and respect. It is a meeting point between the spiritual and the human.
Visiting hours: generally from morning to sunset.
Accessibility: there are paved areas, parking, and guides available on some days.
I recommend: bring a coat for the cool weather, camera, and be prepared to climb stairs.

The Virgen de la Paz is not only the tallest habitable sculpture in Latin America. It is also a point of connection between art, spirituality and Venezuelan identity. I recommend everyone who has the opportunity to visit it: not only for the view, but for the emotional impact it generates. The monument reminds us that in the midst of the modern world and its challenges, there are always spaces that invite us to return to the essential, to reconnect with calm.
