Visiting Treppio, its flowers, its alleys and its houses, a magical place among the mountains.(ENG/ESP)

Good evening, blog friends, today I'm taking you with me again on one of my travels, to the beautiful village of Treppio, a town on the border of Emilia, reached via the Porrettana road I mentioned a few days ago:

Treppio is a small, mountainous village of medieval origin, said to be of Lombard origin. Treppio has very few inhabitants, less than 200, but it is close to several Emilian towns such as Porretta and Ponte alla Venturina. In the 1980s, it was a popular holiday destination for its cool temperatures and tranquility, as well as it s proximity to Lake Suviana. Today, it is almost uninhabited, nestled between the mountains, and the few inhabitants are all elderly, mostly from Emilia, as we could tell from the accent. It is still a place where people greet everyone, even strangers. Treppio is cool in the summer and cold in the winter; the winters are quite harsh. A local resident told us that in the summer there are also several rivers nearby and that the nice thing about Treppio is that the residents all know each other, and that the town's meeting point is the small square where I took the photos. The gentleman was really nice and eager to chat, he even offered us a coffee!

The weather was a bit gray, but even in the gray I found some color. After talking to us a bit about the square and the surrounding area, the kind gentleman let me photograph his house with its quirky wooden planters and his garden with magnificent flowers, of which he was particularly proud—and indeed, they were beautiful. We took a walk with him, and he showed us some of the village streets, describing the people who lived there and some silly gossip.

Treppio has a somewhat dark, gloomy feel, in my opinion, with so many gray, closed houses, an almost melancholy atmosphere, but it remains a charming little village with kind and helpful people. My husband often came here in the summer as a child and told me that it used to be a very lively and cheerful place; now, even he found it a bit melancholy. In any case, I think it's a quiet, relaxing, and well-kept place; although closed, almost all the houses have beautiful gardens. I hope you enjoy my photos of Treppio, and I'll see you soon on my next trip! Good evening, blog friends!

Oh Treppio must be lonely but looking how beautiful and peaceful it is because of small to none people living made it worthy to be that lonely. Looking at your photos, the place is great for people who likes to have stroll in a peaceful place but at the same time meet folks that are kind and welcoming just like the people in Treppio. Your stroll must be awesome and memorable and I hope you met a lot of good people in your walk. Thank you for sharing this @noemilunastorta.❤️

This village looks so peaceful! Even though it’s a bit gloomy, it has such a cozy vibe. I’d love to visit places like this someday.
