Recomendación: ¿Qué ver hoy? Parasite 🍿[Esp/Eng]

Espero se encuentren súper bien. En esta oportunidad les traigo una recomendación de peli. Aunque yo suelo ser mucho más de series, esta me encantó y me hizo enamorarme de los thriller y pelis de suspenso, porque fue la primera película que vi de este género y fue tan increíble que se quedó entre mis favoritas luego de años de ser estrenada.

I hope you are all doing great. This time I bring you a movie recommendation. Although I'm usually more into series, I loved this one and it made me fall in love with thrillers and suspense movies, because it was the first movie I saw in this genre and it was so incredible that it remained among my favorites years after its release.

Parasite nos cuenta la historia de la familia Kim, quienes viven en un semisótano en Seúl y sobreviven a base de trabajos menores y hasta pequeñas estafas. Pero la vida de esta familia de cuatro empieza a cambiar cuando Ki-woo, el hijo mayor, consigue una recomendación para dar clases particulares de inglés a la hija de los Park, una familia con mucho dinero que pertenece a una clase social completamente diferente a la de los Kim. Poco a poco, los Kim idean un plan para que cada miembro de la familia vaya entrando a trabajar para los Park, haciéndose pasar por profesionales calificados y ocultando toda relación que los pudiera vincular mutuamente.

Mientras disfrutan de esa comodidad luego de tantos engaños, esa fachada empieza a caerse poco a poco y todo se complica mucho más cuando descubren un gran secreto oculto en la casa de los Park.

Parasite tells the story of the Kim family, who live in a basement apartment in Seoul and survive on odd jobs and even small scams. But the life of this family of four begins to change when Ki-woo, the eldest son, gets a recommendation to tutor the daughter of the Parks, a wealthy family belonging to a completely different social class than the Kims. Little by little, the Kims devise a plan for each member of the family to get a job with the Parks, posing as qualified professionals and hiding any relationship that could link them to each other.

While they enjoy this comfort after so many deceptions, the facade slowly begins to crumble, and everything becomes much more complicated when they discover a big secret hidden in the Park family's home.

Lo impresionante de esta peli es cómo empieza su historia, con un simple engaño de una familia que busca aprovecharse de la riqueza de otra. Pero conforme la trama avanza, las tensiones crecen entre los mismos miembros, lo que hace que todo esté a flor de piel porque ya no sabes qué esperar. Y justo en ese momento se empieza a tornar en una historia mucho más oscura e inquietante, y lo hicieron funcionar de una forma que definitivamente sus Óscar fueron bien merecidos.

Uno de los puntos que más me atraen de la peli es que supieron jugar con la escenografía: desde las estructuras, los colores, la iluminación, todo te estaba contando una historia. Acompañaba a la trama tan perfectamente que, solo con ver la casa de la familia Kim y la casa de la familia Park, ya se transmitía esa diferencia entre clases sociales. No era solo algo estético, mostraba claramente cómo vivía una familia y cómo la otra intentaba sobrevivir. Hasta elementos como la lluvia marcaban esta diferencia abismal: una familia la disfrutaba desde la comodidad y otra apenas lograba encontrar un espacio para dormir secos.

What's impressive about this film is how the story begins, with a simple deception by one family seeking to take advantage of another's wealth. But as the plot progresses, tensions grow among the family members themselves, making everything feel raw because you no longer know what to expect. And that's when it starts to turn into a much darker and more disturbing story, and they made it work in a way that definitely made their Oscars well deserved.

One of the things I like most about the film is how they played with the set design: from the structures to the colors to the lighting, everything was telling a story. It accompanied the plot so perfectly that just by looking at the Kim family's house and the Park family's house, you could already see the difference between social classes. It wasn't just aesthetic; it clearly showed how one family lived and how the other tried to survive. Even elements such as rain highlighted this huge difference: one family enjoyed it from the comfort of their home, while the other could barely find a place to sleep dry.
