Recently, I took a new approach to movies and TV series. I began a contest of watching movies or TV series I have watched in the past, to see what I might have missed, or something new I could gain. You know it is well known that if you want to learn something new, try reading a book again, so I decided to apply this knowledge to movies and TV Series.
The Big Bang was the first series on my mind to try this new approach on. Back in 2022, I watched the renowned sitcom for the first time while I was still new to the entire franchise and concept of the Big Bang. Then I was intrigued by how a sitcom with multiple episodes and seasons, and even a huge fan base of people who cried at the ending of the series, could be such a big hit. With this, I knew I had to watch to see for myself, and do not doubt me when I say it is a true work of comedy. So many inside jokes, dramatic ironies, and oblivious ques that will make you wonder if Sheldon is truly a robot.
Since I had watched it in the past, I told myself I had to do something different this time. I have to watch it from a different character's point of view, meaning most of my attention will be focused on one specific character, what they say, how they act and behave in certain situations, and most importantly, the jokes they crack. Since my first time watching was focused on Sheldon Cooper, this time I chose Howard Wolowitz.
Oh boy! This guy is funny and I still ask myself how I missed out on his ques when watching the previous times. From the way he is stylishly dressed, which depicts a child in an adult body with his outrageous belt buckles, down to the teasing jokes he's always throwing at his Indian friend Raj. All these masterpieces are from the acting of Simon Helberg. It was even more shocking when I watched his interview, and he is a different person from his character, Howard. To date, I am still finding it difficult to separate one from the other.
I can remember an episode from season 11, where Raj decides to give his friendship with Howard a break because of the constant ridicule from Howard. What is funny in that scene is that instead of Howard to take the conversation seriously, he decides to turn it into a lover's breakup where he is begging Raj if he can see other needy Indian men.
Watching this sitcom from a different viewpoint makes it a lot funnier and kind of new to me again. You could try it out on your favourite series or sitcom, and if it happens to be The Big Bang, I suggest you focus on Howard; you will get more sarcastic jokes from that guy. One of the best comedy series! They created perfect characters. 😂I've already watched it maybe five times, and as you mentioned, looking at it from a different perspective has helped me understand them all now. 💪A few months ago, I decided to watch it in German. Well, not all the jokes are the same, which made it a bit challenging for me because I knew it was a completely different joke in English. Also, hearing Raj's voice in German was not ideal. 😂But I promised myself I would finish it, so I have five more seasons to go!💪
Watching it in German is a different ball game. Only thinking about what Raj sounds like in German has me laughing already. 😆
Thanks for stopping by.
Try it…😂 I still haven't gotten used to his voice 😂 and oh, when the Howard imitates Stephen Hawking…nop…not good 😂😂

yes very funny guys
Yes it is
I feel ashamed for never watching "The Big Bang Theory" until this age. But I am a person who never had patience watching series, as I feel like I should watch all episodes in one run, and doing this with a series of 12 seasons, is wild! lol
You're definitely missing! But you can always watch it anytime. I wish I were you too right now lol.
Thanks for stopping by.
Sheldon is more insufferable here and that just shows how good the acting was. I somehow hate Sheldon and just feel sorry for every characters there having to deal with him haha. Have you watched Young Sheldon?
Sheldon is truly insufferable; at times, I even feel for Amy and what she had to go through with his loose mouth and inconsiderate disregard for human emotion and social cues. Although in the end, she did a good job on her man.
I watched Young Sheldon, and it was quite emotional for me when the Coopers lost their dad in the end. Ops. Spoiler alert. Sorry to those who haven't watched it, and they who have seen this comment.
Currently thinking about starting with George and Mandy's first Marriage, a spin-off from Young Sheldon. What do you think about it?
Absolutely! What a great idea to rewatch the series focusing on a different character each time. With The Big Bang Theory, it's sure to be amazing! I've seen it a thousand times, and it's true that at first you focus a lot on Sheldon, it's inevitable. Definitely, watching the series from Howard's perspective must give you a lot of moments and jokes that you might have missed the first time around. You've made me want to do the same!
muy buena y entretenida, excelente post!
very good and entertaining, excellent post!
I really enjoyed this show for the most part but I have friends that absolutely hate it. I don't understand these people but I can understand how people tire of any comedy with a "laugh track." I liked all the characters for who they were and thought they were a good mix of people to have together. I also like the story about how Jim Parsons didn't negotiate a salary increase for himself, it was for EVERYONE. He could have held out for more just for him because he was really the only actor that wasn't replaceable.
I would really like my wife to improve her English instead of watching Thai drama series all day and the first thing that came to mind was this show, but she's too young, not American, or a nerd, so she wouldn't get it. Then I thought about Friends but she didn't like that. At least she likes The Mandalorian, but now, I can't think of what to download for her. Any suggestions?
Oh wow. Have you tried “Stranger things” or “Wednesday”. Tell me what genre you think she likes and I can recommend better shows. Comedy, romance,sci-fi or action.
I learned about "Stranger Things" from my timid student after I assigned her class to write about any TV series, and I fell in love with it, watching the whole thing in a week and a half. It was great! Unfortunately, my wife didn't seem to care for it or its wonderful 1980s nostalgia. I don't think she'd like Wednesday either. It's hard with these goddamn phones. It's no way to enjoy a show, but it's all most of us have these days. Can you believe she's never seen a movie in a movie theater? She did really enjoy the 1990 Ninja Turtles movie. It was a blast watching it with her again. Our daughter fell asleep right as they said !Pizza for the first time.
