Perfect Weekend With the Oldies: Enjoyed a Sweet-Style Barbecue with Banana Ketchup and Crispy Fried Chicken -All Are Homecooked

After tasting the barbeque in one of the carinderia in Pinamalayan, Mommy F requested some of it the next day, like it's a cravings. It's a chicken barbeque and even me enjoyed it. Of course, it's a request so who am I to let her down no?

So it was the first day of November, Saturday. I asked Mommy F what she wants for lunch, fish or chicken again. We're having so much if chicken already but there's no other choice. Then Mommy F said she wants a different dish, not adobo, tinola or caldereta. She wants chicken barbeque. I'm actually contemplating whether to make it coz we don't have griller for it. But then mama has them so I have to cook it downstairs in her dirty kitchen.

But first things first, I went to the market to get the ingredients needed for it. I decided to also fry some chicken aside from chicken barbeque. It's a two dish for us. But I like fried chicken more. How about you guys? In grilled meat, I actually prefer pork than chicken. (⁠^⁠∇⁠^⁠)⁠ノ⁠♪

So I get the breast part, we need the meat part while the rest is for the fried chicken. This is more than half kilo by the way.

For the meat part, I just cut them really thin, just like this. I also smash them a bit using a clean rock, haha. It's actually our smasher for the garlic. Hihi

I seasoned it with pepper, salt, seasonings, calamansi and ketchup. The banana ketchup will give the color to our chicken barbeque. Will marinate it for 30 minutes. We don't have much time but better marinate it for hours or 24 hours to make it more tasty and delicious. \⁠(⁠^⁠o⁠^⁠)⁠/

Then I used a bamboo skewers to make it look like a real barbeque. Just like this ƪ⁠(⁠‾⁠.⁠‾⁠“⁠)⁠┐

It's grilling time. I used a small amount of charcoal here enough to cook it slowly. We'll grill it slowly in there just like that

Slowly... Real slow yes. Look at that. And then baam! Haha. I put a ketchup on top it because ... Why not no? It can also add as a twist into it to make it a lil bit of sweet, a sweet style barbeque yes (⁠✿⁠^⁠‿⁠^⁠)

And it's done! I think I did great here. Mommy F likes it. I also tried eating some and the seasonings is just right. Not bad, not bad ♪⁠┌⁠|⁠∵⁠|⁠┘⁠♪

Now for the fried chicken...

I made it simple and easy. I marinated the chicken for a longer time because I prepared it with the barbeque. I think it's 1 hour. I just used salt, seasonings, garlic and pepper. For the coating, just flour, salt and seasonings. I didn't use egg in it, just flour (⁠✿⁠^⁠‿⁠^⁠)

Now when frying it, I used medium heat here then adjust it to high heat to make it more crispy. I also didn't use much oil in it just enough to cook the other side, then will just flip it.

After flipping it, I cook the other side for like 5 to 7 minutes. I did it with the others too. And it's done. It's ready to serve ƪ⁠(⁠‾⁠.⁠‾⁠“⁠)⁠┐.

And with the chicken barbeque and fried chicken, I had an enjoyable lunch time with the oldies that weekend Everyone enjoy it, I didn't show it but I also bought cooked vegetable dish that day. To complete the meal ฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ

Homemade barbeque is much safer and tastier than what is sold outside. Sometimes kase nung bumili ako may uod na malaki gumagapang sa binili kong bbq😭 So mula noon hindi na kami bumibili. Nagluluto nlng kami at home. Masarap talaga yang barbeque na manok, mas malasa sya for me kesa sa baboy. At fried chicken, naku, pinaka favorite ko yan at yung sardinas na may itlog. Pag isa sa dalawa nyan inihain sa lamesa, hindi talaga ako mag aatubiling kumain😅

That's so true din, sure kang pili and safe yong mga ingredients na nagamit and sure na di nalangawan ba. Sakin naman pork talag bet ko haha. Pero friend chicken yes, the best yan! Mapapa second or baka third servings pa ng rice nyan haha
