Squirrel Sunday - The Invader

The squirrels are back for another #squirrelsunday

The squirrels are worried about something today.

Now they are all acting like branches and holding still thinking they have the power of camouflage like an octopus.

Younger ones don't care and just keep eating and watching the others freak out.

The old mother tells them to hurry up and act like a branch.

P1013453 copy.jpg
What! Why should I waste time acting like a branch when I can run around collecting walnuts?

P1013467 copy.jpg
Beware you will regret getting that last walnut!

P1013461 copy.jpg
I can hurry up past any perceived threat these older squirrels have. I am fast and young.
P1013464 copy.jpg
Just as the squirrel got close to the ground and almost harvested the walnut he noticed something lurking out in the open that spotted him.

Oh no its a dog that is off his leash... Now the young squirrel was doomed to becoming a chew toy. Meanwhile the dog wondered why it stopped squeaking after a few chews?

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

You have captured them in so many wonderful positions and the dog is certainly watching intently. love them all.

I found these guys at a park in Indiana, different than my fox squirrels in Chicago. Some of these guys were quite tame for nice closeup shots. I think the dog was being trained out in the open field by its owners to scare up game.

Well, I certainly enjoyed seeing all those closeup shots of the squirrels.

Been a while since I've seen a squirrel sunday...

Had to go all the way to Indiana to see these guys. Usually while I'm pushing a stroller I can't take shots of my neighborhood squirrels.
