@xvlad, and I traveled to Sao Paulo to meet @blessskateshop and experiment with the Distriator functionality of buying goods with HBD.
Hello all! The skatehive team is sharing with you their closed-loop system of buying and selling of skateboarding equipment with Hive/HBD.
We hopped on a bus and traveled to Sao Paulo. I have seen so much from Bless skateshop on Hive and was beyond stoked to get to meet the guys there.
A few weeks prior, we gave @starkerz a call to ask about how the @hivedebit card, and @distriator works.
Bless is a skateshop/barbershop. Our first day there we bought some clothes. I really wanted to buy a haircut but I am glad @vaipraonde got to do that, the second night we visited them.
We went to go skate the DIY spot right by the shop and I am working on the edit for that right now. One thing at a time! there is so much content from this point in time its really hard to organize it all.
Bless gives a 20% discount on all the goods in the shop if you pay with hive just to stimulate the use of Hive. Patrons can then use Distriator to further earn money back on what they buy.
there is a computer in the shop that is for onboarding people to skatehive, and teaching people how to write hive posts.
We really created a lot of buzz that night and some OG skaters who were in the shop were very interested in skatehive and how it all works.
Its a beautiful little shop in a great location in Sao Paulo. We returned to Bless another night because I needed a new board. We also met with @vaipraonde to make sure we knew how to use the hive debit card system. That episode will come out soon.
Skatehive is one of the only communities on hive that can tout a "closed-loop-system" of buying stuff with Hive -> using the stuff to create content on hive -> earn more hive with the content -> buying more stuff with hive -> ect.

From being a classic Hive community, to launching our own open-source app, to creating an incredible closed-loop payments system... Dude! Amazing stuff. You can do so much with Distriator and of corse don't forget that it is not only HBD but also Bitcoin Lightning. So, go to btcmap.org and register there as well 😉 Also, not sure you guys use @worldmappin? If not, start using it so skaters kan add cool skate locations on the map making it easier for other scaters to find ;)
yes, every hive user and business also by default has a BTC wallet at "USERNAME"@sats.v4v.app
So literally, a business can accept BTC and HBD if they are listed on Distriator ? And they don't need to have their own BTC account.
correct, ALL hive users have a BTC address by default. its @YOURUSERNAME@sats.v4v.app so in your case it is sanjeevn@sats.v4v.app

the bitcoin lightning thing is awesome. and if i understand correctly, is the VSC thing that people are working on in hive going to allow merchants to accept any crypto using their hive account?
you see we have a skatespots map on our skatehive website? i use worldmappin on my posts but for the skatespots map, we need more of a custom map, to only display the skate stuff, so its currently a google map. that i manually add to. we need to make a custom map. i wonder what map API @worldmappin use to display their map
atm, you can use worldmappin to filter tags for skatehive. when purchases are made, you can see the geo coordinates of the shop if the user pins the cash back claim to worldmappin via distriator app. not sure yet how we make that specific only to skate shops, but its not impossible, that in the future you will be able to use worldmappin.com to see all hive skate shops with one filter request
...and you can click on a shop and it will show everything that was bought with hive from that shop in a list. imagining that is amazing... lets build
The worldmappin is open source. So you can look it up any time. But at the same time this year we aim to include more and more communities and add filters to the map. So showing your skate places could be one of the topics to filter :)

to your knowledge, care to comment on the "VSC thing?"
All I know is that you will be able to connect all your wallets to VSC so payment is yet another layer I am not sure about. I will tag @vsc.network and hope they can tell you more.

If you know a shop owner, tell them that if their clients post two photos of what they buy, hive will pay them an instant cash back of up to 40%. all they need is a hive account. if you can get them a hive account, pls DM me and we will help you get the business registered to Distriator so that the cash back is possible
