Before I conclude watching Where the Sun Rises, episode 1 of Physical: Asia, I want to speculate that the winners in the first quest will include both the Australian and Indonesian teams. Even though I love Manny Pacquiao, I don't think this type of competition is suitable for his size. In boxing, there is no question. But this contest is different.
The first quest is Territory Conquest. I think the athletes of both Australia and Indonesia are too big and too strong.
Another interesting observation is the 1 billion KRW prize pot. This reminds me of Squid Game, another Netflix series.
1 billion KRW is equivalent to 697,560 USD or 40,960,900 PHP. Each member of the winning team can receive a total of 116,260 USD.
This made me wonder why the Filipino legend joined this competition. In his last fight with Barrios, he earned between $17 and $20 million, or 1 billion PHP, while the latter received approximately $2.5 million. And so I think Pac-Man is not after the prize.
This reality TV show has 12 episodes in total. I am thinking, is this competition for real? Like the Olympics or just for entertainment? I don't know. Perhaps, as I continue watching this Netflix series, this question will be answered.
