Getting back to the basics with a quick but detailed pencil drawing.

After spending some time diving into ink and strong black-and-white contrast to emphasize lights and shadows, I felt the need to return to the soft texture of graphite, as the finish is more personal and realistic.

This piece is a female figure study that focuses on the back and its curved form. What I most wanted to showcase in the scene is how the light reveals the volume of the muscles, the shoulders, and the glutes, creating distinct planes of light and shadow.

I wanted the drawing to feel intimate and real; her calm and confident expression helps make the drawing more pleasant. I aimed to capture the sensation of the skin and the hair gathered in a messy bun. I'm particularly fascinated by the way the shadow marks the center of the back and defines the hip.

Technical Details:

• Medium: Graphite pencil; I used a 3B for the deepest shadows.

• Focus: The light comes from above and slightly from the right, accentuating the shapes and volumes on the back and glutes, revealing definition in her back that suggests she is a girl who exercises.

• Style: A somewhat quick sketch with a detailed finish, maintaining a certain spontaneity in the strokes.

It reminds me how important figure drawing is for understanding the human form. Anatomical drawing will always be my favorite. I hope you like it.

ESPAÑOL

Volviendo a las bases con un dibujo rápido pero detallado a lápiz.

Después de un tiempo dándole con todo a la tinta y al contraste fuerte entre el blanco y negro para enfatizar luces y sombras, sentí la necesidad de regresar a la textura suave del grafito ya que el acabado es mas personal y realista.

Esta pieza es un estudio de figura femenina que se enfoca en la espalda y su forma curvada. Lo que más quise mostrar de la escena es cómo la luz muestra el volumen de los musculos, los hombros y el gluteo, creando planos de luz y sombra bien marcados.

Quise que el dibujo se sintiera íntimo y real, su cara tranquila y confiada ayuda a que el dibujo sea mas placentero, buscando capturar la sensación de la piel y el cabello recogido en un moño desordenado. Me fascina particularmente la forma en que la sombra marca el centro de la espalda y define la cadera.

Detalles de la Técnica:

• Medio: Lápiz de grafito, usé un 3B para las sombras más profundas.

• Foco: La luz viene de arriba y ligeramente de la derecha, acentuando las formas y los volúmenes en la espalda y el glúteo, mostrando una definicion en su espalda que nos dice que es una chica que se ejercita.

• Estilo: Un dibujo algo rapido rápido con un acabado detallado, manteniendo cierta espontaneidad en el trazo.

Me recuerda lo importante que es el dibujo de figura para entender la forma humana. el dibujo anatomico siempre sera mi favorito. espero les guste.
