Visiting the beach is a lovely and pleasant experience that allows me to relax, admire the beauty of the sea, and enjoy being in contact with nature. The city of Cumaná, located in the eastern region, stands out for its long stretch of beaches. One of them is located in the San Luis sector. This coastal strip is divided into several sections and is one of the most visited beaches in the state due to its excellent location and proximity to the capital city of Sucre state, on Avenida Universidad at the Cumaná-Puerto la Cruz national highway. If you don't have a vehicle, you can easily reach this area by public transport; several lines cover this route, and in just a few minutes, you'll be enjoying the warm waters and beautiful scenery of this beach.
Last week, I had to run errands in this part of town and took the opportunity to go for a short walk on the beach. 🏖️👙 Two friends and I decided to go for a stroll in the afternoon. We didn't have beachwear, so the initial plan was simply to walk along the shore, enjoy the cool evening breeze, sit on the branches of the sea grape trees, and wait until late afternoon to watch the sunset, which is my favorite part. Since I didn't have sneakers, I couldn't walk along the shoreline, so I just walked along the concrete walkways and observed the numerous Coconut palms Cocos nucifera that line the beach in this area.
Visitar la playa es una linda y agradable experiencia que me permite relajarme, admirar la belleza del mar y disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, la ciudad Cumaná, ubicada en la región oriental destaca por su larga extensión de playas, una de ellas se ubica en el sector San Luis, esta franja costera se divide en varios sectores y constituye una de las playas más visitadas en la entidad por excelente ubicación y cercanía a la ciudad capital del estado Sucre, en la avenida Universidad con carretera nacional Cumaná - Puerto la Cruz, si no dispones de vehículo, tranquilamente te puedes dirigir a esta zona en el transporte público, varias líneas cubren esta ruta y en pocos minutos estarás disfrutando las cálidas aguas y hermoso paisaje de esta playa.
La semana pasada, precisamente tuve que hacer diligencias en esta zona de la ciudad y aproveché para hacer una pequeña caminata por la playa, 🏖️👙 en compañía de dos de mis amigas decidimos ir en horas de la tarde a dar un pequeño paseo por la playa, no teníamos ropa de playa, así que el plan inicial solo era caminar por la orilla de la playa, disfrutar la fresca brisa vespertina, sentarnos en las ramas de los árboles de uvero y esperar hasta la tarde se para observar el ocaso del sol que es mi parte favorita, como no lleve zapatos deportivos no pude caminar por la orilla de la playa, así que me limité a avanzar por las caminerías de concreto y observar las numerosas Palmas de coco Cocos nucifera, que se encuentran en este sector a lo largo de la playa.
From the moment you enter the Bordones area, you can see several palm trees on the ground. The sand is soft, and you can see several signs inviting citizens to dispose of their trash properly and keep the area clean. After walking along the concrete walkways, I decided to sit under a Sea Grape tree Coccoloba uvifera to observe the beautiful seascape, enjoy the breeze, and I paused to watch the coconut palms swaying in the wind.
Most of the beaches I've visited in the city are characterized by their numerous coconut palms, except for the area known as El Monumento, where there are no coconut palms. In this area, you'll usually see sea grape trees and mangroves. My restless feet longed to reach the water's edge and enjoy the pleasant sensation of sinking my toes into the sand and the gentle massage of the water as the waves crashed against the shore. As I mentioned before, I didn't bring the right shoes, and I had to view the beach from afar and observe other elements that I hadn't paid much attention to on previous trips, such as the coconut palms, their large fronds, and some of the small fruits. 🍃🌬️ We arrived at the beach around 4 pm, and since we still had time, we decided to wait until sunset. I must say that the view of the palm trees against the setting sun is beautiful; a soft brown color seems to paint the leaves of these plants, and the view is stunning.
Desde que entras por la zona de los Bordones se observan varias palmeras en el terreno, la arena es suave y en ella puedes ver varios anuncios que invitan al ciudadano a depositar la basura en el lugar correspondiente y mantener el área limpia, luego de hacer mi recorrido por las caminerías de concreto decidí sentarme en un árbol de Uvero de Playa Coccoloba uvifera, para observar el hermoso paisaje marino, disfrutar la brisa y me detuve a mirar las palmas de coco movidas por el viento.
La mayoría de las playas que he visitado en la ciudad se caracterizan por poseer numerosas palmeras de coco, a excepción de la zona conocida como el Monumento donde no hay palmeras de coco, en esta zona regularmente se ven uveros y mangles, los pies inquietos querían desplazarse hasta la orilla del mar y disfrutar esa agradable sensación de hundir los pies en la tierra y el suave masaje del agua cuando las ola golpean la orilla, como lo mencioné anteriormente no lleve los zapatos adecuados, y me tocó ver la playa desde lejos y observar otros elementos que en viajes anteriores no le había dado la mayor importancia como los cocoteros, sus grandes palmas y en algunas pequeños frutos, 🍃🌬️ llegamos a la playa aproximadamente a las 4 de la tarde y como aún teníamos tiempo decidimos esperar hasta el atardecer, debo decir que la vista de las palmeras en contraste con el ocaso del sol se ven hermosas, un tenue color marrón parece dibujar las hojas de estas plantas y la vista es hermosa.
At sunset, I moved to another area because I wanted to photograph the palm trees. In fact, I took few pictures of the beach itself, as I focused on these characteristic plants that are so abundant there. While searching for a good spot to take photos, I spotted another sea grape plant with roots and branches that were perfect for sitting and enjoying the spectacular view of the surrounding sea. The sea grape is a delicious fruit with a citrusy touch. People who visit the beach often enjoy this treat, and it's also used to make wine. These plants are plentiful on San Luis beach, and it's common to see children eating them. While taking photos, I saw some birds, but it was impossible to get a shot because they were moving so fast. The flock continued moving swiftly, perhaps heading home, taking advantage of the last rays of the sun.
After taking the photos, I noticed one of my friends relaxing in the water. This made me laugh, since she was the one who said we were just going for a walk on the beach because we didn't have any extra clothes. She definitely couldn't resist a refreshing and relaxing dip in the sea. Ely and I walked the entire length of the boardwalks, and I noticed that most of the palm trees are located very close to them. I put my phone away, as the goal was to admire the palm trees without interruption. From the Los Bordones area, we followed the boardwalks to Cangrejo Azul, and there were only a few small sections without palm trees. In many of these areas, the palm trees grew alongside sea grapes and thorny plants similar to aloe vera. We also saw several concrete and stone benches along various stretches. According to a lovely and friendly woman we chatted with and walked with for a while, these benches, in addition to providing a place to rest and put bags and belongings, also mark the boundaries of the beach sections.
After the walk, we went to get our friend who was still in the water and had to wait almost an hour for our clothes to dry a little before we could get on the bus. We helped her wring out her t-shirt and then headed to the bus stop to take the transport back home. Although I couldn't swim at the beach or at least walk along the shore, it was an excellent decision to take a walk on the beach, enjoy the breeze, and observe the palm trees in detail.
Al atardecer me ubiqué en otra zona pues quería tomar fotografías a las palmeras, de hecho le tomé pocas foto a la playa, porque me enfoqué en estas características plantas que abundan en la playa de la zona, avanzando en busca de un buen lugar para hacer las fotografías vi otra planta de uvero con raíces y ramas muy cómodas para sentarse y disfrutar la espectacular vista del entorno marino, el Uvero de playa, es una deliciosa fruta con un toque cítrico, las personas que visitan la playa suelen disfrutar esta delicia y también es empleada para preparar vino, en la playa San Luis abundan estas plantas y es común ver a los niños comerla, mientras tomaba la fotografías pude ver algunas aves, pero fue imposible lograr una toma porque avanzaban muy rápido, la bandada sigue se movía veloz, tal vez con destino a su hogar, aprovechando los últimos rayos del sol.
Al terminar de tomar las fotografías, me di cuenta que una de mis amigas estaba de lo más tranquila bañándose en la playa, esto me causó risa, pues fue ella quien dijo que solo iríamos a caminar por la playa, ya que no teníamos ropa adicional, esta chica definitivamente no se pudo resistir a un refrescante y relajante baño en el mar, Ely y yo hicimos un recorrido completo por las caminerías y noté que la mayoría de las palmeras se ubican muy cerca de estas, guardé el teléfono, pues el objetivo era contemplar las palmeras sin interrupciones; desde el sector los Bordones tomamos las caminerías hasta cangrejo azul y fueron pocos y pequeños espacios los que no tenían palmeras, en muchos de ellos convergen las palmeras con los Uveros y plantas espinosas parecidas a la sábila, también vimos varios bancos de concreto y piedra en varios tramos, de acuerdo a la información de una linda y amable señora con quien conversamos y caminamos un rato , estos además de ofrecer un espacio para descansar y colocar los bolsos y utensilios, constituyen los límites en los sectores de la playa.
Terminada la caminata fuimos por nuestra amiga que aún estaba en el agua y tuvimos que esperar casi una hora para que la ropa secara un poco para poder subir a la buseta, la ayudamos e exprimir la franela y luego nos dirigimos hacia la parada para tomar el transporte de vuelta a casa, aunque no me pude bañar en la playa o al menos caminar por la orilla fue una excelente decisión hacer una caminata por la playa disfrutar la brisa y observar en detalle las palmeras.
