The world we are living in is a fallen world. The amount of pollution alone released into the environment has caused the earth to be harmful to us, causing to the rise of several diseases and pandemics from time to time.
Imagine I am in my house and four men dressed in lab coats, obviously scientists come in and begin to narrate how a cure has been found like…
In a world filled with uncertainties and diverse kinds of pandemic, the fate of the whole world rests on the shoulders of a young child. His/her name is your child.
I cannot imagine carrying a child for nine to ten months and then when I'm settling into motherhood, a group of scientists would come telling me that my child is the cure to a deadly pandemic. Nope, I cannot imagine it.
But for the sake of the hive Ghana prompt posed for this week's weekly engagement, I'll do my best to give my valid reasons on this.
Firstly, that child of mine happens to be my one and only child. Emphasis on the ”one and only” guys. Now you want me to sacrifice that same child for humanity. Abeg, where the humanity dey self and who them help?
There's no way I would consent to that at all. Not for money, a nobel prize or any form of compensation that the world could offer. But just to be fair, I would agree if it just requires taking some pints of blood from my baby but if and I mean if the scientists are saying that they would have to dissect my precious baby, carry out lots of lab experiments on his body parts and formulate the cure, then they are in for a huge ride because I would rather we all died than give up my child.
Come to think of it self, is it not this same humanity that crucified our innocent Jesus despite all the good that He did while He was on Earth?
Is it not still the same humanity that one would do a good deed for and by tomorrow, they will forget and still come after the doer of the good?
Let's just be clear about this. I won't give up my one and only precious baby for any humanity. If the scientists could trace a cure to my child, then they can as well seek out other options for a cure.
I also fear that if my child is sacrificed and I'm left childless, what's stopping them from making it a norm anytime a pandemic occurs?
These scientists could easily play God later on when more pandemics arise in the world. They would easily disregard the sanctity of human life and begin to opt for blood sacrifices (like idol gods) for cures rather than developing cures with natural herbs as it should be. This trend would continue on and on until the entire population is at risk of extinction.
I would be doing ”humanity” a great service by not releasing my child for any sacrifice and cure.
I'd rather be called selfish and stay with my child as long as we shall live than to be called noble and give away the only bloodline to my lineage and generation. I'm sure even my ancestors would turn in their graves if I ever tried such.
Thank you very much for reading. This is my entry to the #hiveghanaweeklyengagement for week #111.
Images used are of my precious daughter.
Honestly, no mother would want to give up her only child, no matter the circumstances. Especially with how the word is now, people will forget the good deed someone did for them easily. Some people will be like do it for humanity, but they won't feel the pain because they're not the one that sacrifice their only child for scientists to do experiments on. If I'm the one I will never sacrifice my only child for experiment. The scientists should look for another way to stop the deadly pandemic without shedding humans blood.
Abi ooo. And if they can't then they should rest. Humans will survive but not by my child's blood

Humanity can go and look for cure for itself and not looking for someone's child to sacrifice. Well done.
Thank you sis
You just brought my mind to it. They would actually make it a point to request for more people if pandemics happen again. That’s definitely a deep thought.
Yes it is. We are humans and sometimes, we often choose the easy way out. If such a thing were to start, then it would become a trend.
Even God Almighty knew this that's why he stopped Father Abraham from killing Isaac.
I appreciate you reading my blog 🤗👍
