Cebu Diaries: Day 1 at the Elegant Bai Hotel

in Daily Blogyesterday

A pleasant day, Hivers! How’s life going? It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been quite busy these past few days preparing for our trip to Cebu to attend a wedding. Then, when we got back home, I caught a fever that lasted for a few days, so I couldn’t post right away. But anyway, it’s good to be back here again!

Before I share everything in detail, I’d like to tell you about our three-day stay at Bai Hotel, Cebu, starting from Day 1. Since I’m quite a talkative person (well, these days hehe) and never run out of stories to tell haha, let’s get started!

We left Bogo on Saturday morning at around 9:00 a.m. Earlier that morning, around 6:00 a.m., we actually felt another aftershock, which made us a bit nervous about traveling. When the van we hired arrived to pick us up, we quickly loaded our things and got on board.

The trip was long, and since the road was quite far and rough, we fell asleep during the ride. A few hours later, we finally arrived at Bai Hotel, Cebu. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by my father’s friend which is the father of the groom, who escorted us to our assigned room. We were given Room #19 on the 12th floor, where we would be staying for the next three days.

Honestly, I was amazed. The hotel was beautiful, elegant, and classic and everything looked so neat and well-maintained. When we entered our room, a friend kindly showed us how the shower worked and explained how to use the equipment provided. They also told us we could call for room cleaning service anytime, though we didn’t really need it since we preferred cleaning up ourselves haha.

What made it even better was the view from our window because we could clearly see the sea right in front of us. It was such a relaxing and refreshing sight!

To keep ourselves from getting bored on our first day, we decided to watch a movie on the hotel TV. The only downside was that we couldn’t really choose what to watch since the channels were pre-selected, but still, we enjoyed it nonetheless.

Later that evening, my father’s friend which was the same one who welcomed us earlier, invited us upstairs to meet the sister of his wife, who was Korean. So we went up to the 21st floor, where the swimming pool was located. That’s also where most of the Koreans in the family were staying.

If you check in at Bai Hotel, swimming is free for guests, but unfortunately, we didn’t bring any extra clothes with us, so we couldn’t take a dip. Still, we had a great time chatting with the Koreans. They were all very friendly and welcoming!

When we returned to our room that night, we used the elevator and maybe there were no stairs for guests. What’s unique about their elevator is that you can’t go up or return to your floor without your room card, because you need to swipe it before the elevator takes you to your designated floor. It’s very secure, though I did wonder what would happen if an earthquake occurred while we were inside haha.

Overall, our first day at the hotel was wonderful. The place was comfortable and cozy, and I really appreciated the small details like having a fridge inside the room, which was perfect for keeping drinks cold.

The only downside I noticed was that everything was quite expensive from the room rates to the food prices. It’s definitely a luxury hotel, but if you’ve got the budget, it’s absolutely worth it.

So that wraps up our Day 1 experience at Bai Hotel.
It was such a beautiful and comfortable stay and a perfect start to our Cebu trip.
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for Day 2! Love you guysss!!
