Hive Thrive and Building Software like a Community

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

We had an awesome show today on Hive Thrive, a great conversation with Andrarchy for sure. I may feel like a spoiled carton of eggs, but I can't help to also feel grateful for the day.

I want to share a little vlog with some thoughts on the show, but also to share with you all how happy it makes me that more people are feeling empowered, motivated, inspired to contribute code to Hive Projects.

I shared some days ago that some devs have lost the plot, and I don't think I was lying, but maybe just exaggerating a little. I'm glad to see people who still get it, and grateful that some of them are on Hive as well.

I use open-source a great deal when I think about it. I develop a lot of web apps, all of which make use of the fabulous NPM ecosystem for JavaScript (Node), we’ve become highly reliant on OS devs for tools such as VueJs, Electron, VS Code which is amazingly still free.

I would love to find time to contribute to such projects and would love to for Hive.

Will OS save the world? Maybe, maybe not, security is always going to be an issue, we’ve come across some pretty scary holes in the past. So a lot of trust needs to be put into these projects.

Amazing to see folks coming together to contribute to the development of open-source software and particularly 3Speak! I can't code, but I'm happy to put the word out there as much as I can through videos and X Spaces I participate in.

I think distributed systems and open source software could very well be the standard one day, but not yet. Normies value quick development, pretty brands and the convenience of closed-source software too much. It's great to see improvements to software like 3 Speak, though, because freedom fighters value it and it will bring more people to the light.

Perfectly said my friend

I love how 3 Speak is evolving, so good!

It's wonderful to hear about the progress being made at Hive.
