El maltrato infantil, oscuro y real,
es un drama profundo, social y moral.

In a world of games and laughter in the sun,
there are children suffering, a fate undone.
Child abuse, dark and painfully real,
is a deep drama, social and moral to feel.

No solo es un crimen, también es dolor,
una herida invisible que deja temor.
A veces es golpe, a veces desprecio,
a veces olvido, muy frío y muy necio.

It’s not just a crime, it’s also great pain,
an unseen wound that leaves fear’s stain.
Sometimes it’s a blow, sometimes disdain,
sometimes neglect, cold and vain.

Puede ser activo, directo y brutal,
como el golpe que hiere, dejando un gran mal.
Puede ser pasivo, callado, sutil,
un abandono que apaga, todo candil.

It can be active, direct, and severe,
like a hurtful strike that brings great fear.
Or passive, silent, subtle and slight,
an abandonment that dims all light.

En casa, en la escuela, en cualquier lugar,
un niño indefenso, no sabe escapar.

At home, at school, or anywhere near,
the helpless child knows no way to clear.

La historia nos cuenta, desde la antigüedad,
que en Roma, en Esparta, en tiempos pasados,
los infantes sufrían, pues eran muy maltratados.

History tells us from ages old,
in Rome and Sparta, harsh tales were told,
children suffered, mistreated and cold.

Pero hoy entendemos, con voz y razón,
que la infancia merece, respeto y amor.

But now we understand with reason and voice,
that childhood deserves respect and choice.

El abuso puede ser físico, sexual o mental,
y deja en el alma un daño fatal.
Por eso es urgente, por eso es vital,
proteger a la infancia, como fino cristal.

Abuse can be physical, sexual, or mind,
leaving fatal damage that’s hard to unwind.
That’s why it’s urgent, that’s why it’s right,
to protect childhood, fragile and bright.

Que nadie en el mundo vuelva a sufrir,
que todos los niños, puedan reír.

May no child in the world suffer again,
may all children laugh, free from pain.

La conciencia nos llama, nos pide actuar,
por un mundo más justo, se ha de luchar.

Conscience calls us, urges to act,
for a fairer world, we must pact.
