Saludos a todos. Presento este trabajo poético como participación en el concurso de décimas propuesto por la comunidad Literatos. En la primera, la muerte se asume como un regreso sereno al origen; en la segunda, se la enfrenta con picardía, música y humor popular. Ambas décimas rinden homenaje al maestro Vicente Espinel y, a la vez, evocan esa certeza íntima de que el fin no borra la memoria: solo la convierte en canto.

Cuando Llega La Hora. La Muerte Asume

I – Calma después del adiós

(Décima seria y grave)

Cuando la hora llega, amigo,
ya no hay sombra ni distancia,
todo vuelve: la infancia,
el amor, el antiguo abrigo.
No hay temor ni hay castigo,
solo un paso hacia la calma,
donde el tiempo deja el alma
sin relojes ni fronteras,
y las luces verdaderas
ofrendan paz a la palma.

II – Despedida en el Campo Santo

(Décima burlesca y ligera)

Cuando llegue mi partida,
no me lloren con tristeza,
que la muerte es rareza
más precisa de la vida.
Si la huesa está prendida,
le echo cuentos y aguardiente,
y si insiste tercamente,
le canto para espantarla,
porque el hombre al recordarla
sabe que es su confidente.

“The hour arrives, bringing with it the memory of what we once were.”

Greetings to everyone. I present this poetic work as my entry in the décima contest organized by the Literatos community. I – Calm After the Farewell

(Serious and solemn décima)

When the hour arrives, my friend,
there’s no shadow, no distance wide,
everything returns inside:
childhood, love, the warmth once penned.
There’s no fear, no need to mend,
just a step into the still,
where time lays the soul at will,
free from borders, clocks, and weight,
and the truest lights of fate
offer peace upon the hill.

II – Farewell in the Graveyard

(Playful and humorous décima)

When my parting time has come,
do not mourn me with despair,
death’s a wonder strange and rare,
most precise to life’s full sum.
If the grave’s fire starts to hum,
I’ll bring stories, jokes, and cheer,
and if death persists too near,
I will sing to drive her far,
for man knows, beneath her scar,
she’s his confidant most dear.
