I first went to Thailand about twenty years ago with the intention of a quick and cheap holiday; the ten days I spent there were very relaxing and enjoyable, although it was bloody hot and humid. It wasn't too much of a problem though I suppose, we didn't do much other than sit around the pool relaxing. We did some sightseeing of course however and I hired a motorbike and we rode around with no set plan other than to see what was around the next corner, find secluded beaches and to experience the location.
Since that time we've been back a few more times and on one occasion for the wedding of a friend of ours from Australia which was a lot of fun.
Something we never really did much of was taking photos and I never really had a very good camera back then anyway. We were always there just to be somewhere different and to relax at the pool, not so much for sightseeing, and eat some great food and basically enjoy each other's company but I've got a few photos and thought I'd share some here.
The first was taken from the balcony of our hotel room, the second from the table of a restaurant we went to a couple times and the third was at the hotel pool although we only stayed at that particular hotel once as we preferred the Novotel instead which was way better.

I wouldn't mind sorting at that restaurant table! Or being on that balcony. Dammit. All of it in fact!
I didn't think I'd like it to be honest so was happily surprised, and liked it enough to go back a few times.
The missus is keen. Shit keeps getting in the way but we hope to make it happen sometime
It's not going anywhere, unless AI deletes it because there's easier options.
Soon there will be AI holidays!
Oh yeah, let a computer take the holiday for us...Seems like the smart thing to do huh?
What a sunset! That picture looks like it should be a postcard. It is such a beautiful place, though not someplace I would like to visit.
Yeah, I wanted to start a postcard business but some bastard came up with the idea already.
lol well son-of-a-bitch! Why does someone always take the good ideas??
I know right? I had it all planned out too, little cards with pictures on them, a place to write on the back and address it prior to sending. So unique. And then bam! Gazumped by some idea-thieving bastard. Don't worry though, I have another idea...
An "intelligence" that isn't real, let's call it "artificial" that helps human beings become dumber by thinking for them (while letting them think they are clever for using it) and permeating every aspect of their lives. I think I'm onto something here. Think of all the job loss and how much time everyone will have when there's no jobs. It'll be glorious.
GeezoPete... keep it on the downlow so nobody steals your idea! I really think that might take off...you could be a millionaire!
Yeah, I should be quiet about it and then launch in a big way huh?
Sometimes, the best trips are the ones with no expectations, just a cheap place to get away. Thailand is perfect for this kind of trip with its diverse and beautiful natural landscapes, as well as a good exchange rate. Great photos! Hard to beat a sunset like that.
Yeah, the exchange rate from my currency to theirs was good, a super cheap holiday for sure!
The first photo is amazing, beautiful colors! Maybe a postcard?
The best vacations are the ones where we have the fewest photos, right? Thailand has a climate very similar to Cuba; I would love to visit it one day. Although I wouldn't complain about relaxing in that pool or on that beach :)
Yeah, we didn't take many photos, were just focused on having a good time and all, it was refreshing.
I haven’t traveled much yet, but I’d love to just explore like that someday—no strict plans, just riding around and finding cool spots. The vibes in your photos feel so peaceful too!
I think you'll get to travel one day and that you'll gain such great memories.
It's interesting to look at a photo from 20 years ago. Your post gave me the idea to dig through my photo archives and write a post.
I know right? Seems like so long ago, so much life has passed by; it's been a good one though.
The view from the room was beautiful with those colours in the sky. It looks like a beautiful paradise despite the heat. The lush vegetation is also beautiful to look at, and the hotel and the views from the restaurant are beautiful... what a beautiful place!!! Wow, photos from 20 years ago, very beautiful!
20 years ago...I was a young man of 113 years old exploring the world. Good times.
Wow, that first photo is pretty amazing. Thailand looks like a beautiful place, but I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to handle the heat and humidity. I sweat just sitting most of the time!
It's hot and humid for sure, quite bad during the day but at night it's pretty nice. We like it there, but the humidity can fuck off. Lol.
I'm with you there! It only gets really bad here for short times. Even then it's more than I can handle sometimes!
Hot and humid is my everyday here my friend, as bloody as the bloodier hot and humider weather, of course, for a holiday and a cool pool it is nice. Sometimes I wish we'd only jave a month ot two like that, just to enjoy beaches, rivers and pool if posibble, I'll rather have a cooler weather the rest of the year. Thailand appears to be beautiful and I've heard a lot good about their food.
I really don't like heat and humidity but I tolerate it to go to some really great places like Thailand. The people are nice and the food too plus they have an interesting culture and some really amazing spots to see. I will go back.
So I've heard. It sounds like a good place to be visiting and revisiting. Heat and humidity can be more tolerated when one knows one can get rid of it after a nice holiday, in which weather is not a big deal compared with the nice things you're experiencing in such an interesting and beautiful place.
Its been a while to travel you there but it's kind of fabulous view you've taking but anything at Thailand is a nice day lively.
Thailand is fabulous.
What camera do you use now? They look so good, The pictures.
The clouds - such a lovely sight. There are just some things worth seeing before death lol
These pictures were taken a long time ago with a camera that I can't recall, a point-and-shoot Canon I think. These days I use an Olympus.
Nice photos! Which city in Thailand is this?
This was in Phuket.
Although you did not take many photos, but the few moments that you have captured are enough to give the feel of that relaxing trip. The relaxed vibes that one gets amidst the heat and humidity of Thailand are a different kind of fun.
So much fun.
Never been to Thailand, it is actually quite beautiful there!
It is indeed.
The "no set plan" way of exploring is how I hope to travel someday, just taking it slow and seeing what shows up around the next bend. Also, the photos feel nostalgic and calming in the best way 🫶
For sure.
Well the beach was a solution to such a hot place and the environment as well is lovely and beautiful to behold
The beach is awesome.
Yeah
Oh Thailand... A colleague of mine visited it and he talked well, the beaches and the temples were beautiful he said... I have never been there, I'd like one day to visit it... I can imagine the humidity, must be similar to Mexico where I have been, takes a little to get used to it
Great view from the room, you can't complain

Old times and dejavu more like 5 and 6..
hey dude... I'm only getting involved because I know my mother would want me to. You began downvoting an account called ketzali. She's someone I onboarded not even a week ago. I know not all onboards are successful, she might not be able to Hive after all, but if you don't mind me asking. What happened?
She got in trouble for spamming and plagiarism early on, and had to go through the process of clearing up her name with hivewatchers. She says she learnt her lesson, and from what I can tell, she's just been writing away.
Obviously, you are entitled to do with your stake as you wish. But, because I know I will be asked about this, I wanted to get some info about it.
Hope all is well
Spam posting.
That looks a nice place to visit and unwind.
It sure is.
