Many people hear the word of God everyday, everywhere ,the word of God is been preached,they hear it, yet the fail to listen to it, they are not bothered about it, they choose not to genuinely hear it because there is difference between just hearing God's word and deeply listening to God's word, understanding it and making use of it, like.. making it appears in your way of life , preaching what you hear from the way you live your life.
People that doesn't listen to God's word are said to be "Idol" yes, because Psalm 115:8:5 mentioned that idols made by human hands - gold and silvers which has eyes yet cannot see, have mouth,yet cannot talk,these human mades has feet yet, cannot walk, they also have ears yet, cannot hear ,are "Idols" whereas it is said that those people that make them are much practically like them which is humans they make them are likely to be them - Idols.
The fact that this generation of humans do not listen to God's word despite hearing them ,they fail to act according to the scriptures ,they are obsessed and chased after golds, silvers and all possession made by human, they are blinded by human craft which made them not to see , all these points at them being "Idols".
Acts 17:29 said for as much as we are offspring of God , we ought not to worship the works of human, we put not to chase after the human craft rather we should give him a listening ears, we should focus on His words and apply it in our daily life. He owns us and we should pay attention to His words and not just hearing it.
Corinthians 4:4 siad the light of the glorious gospel of Christ will not shine on them ,those who don't deeply believe in the words of God will ,will surely be blinded by the words of Satan, the enemy of God.
We should not just be hearer of His words but Doer of His words, only then do we show we genuinely believe and listen to God.
