This is the story of grace and favour. The blind man of Bethesda received mercy and grace from God. The touch of Jesus Christ was a touch of mercy. The man needed a second touch. The Lord had touched him and he saw but not very well. As a loving God and father which he is, the Lord Jesus Christ touch him again when he said that he was not seeing well. Men are not trees. Anyone who sees men as trees is not seeing well. Such a person needs a second touch. The second touch of the master brings perfect and wholeness.
The grace of God brings us salvation and perfection. The grace of God helps us to do what we are not able to do. The grace of God makes up for our deficiency. The touch of God is what gives us the grace that we need to be fulfilled in our lives. Just like that blind man of Bethsaida, let us come to Jesus Christ so that He can touch us and make us whole.
Mark 8:22-25 (KJV) And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
