Queenstown parkrun would have to be one of the most beautiful courses we have done. Be careful not to run too fast or you will miss all the wonderful scenery. I have been to this town a couple of times over the years but always in the middle of winter to ski and snow board on the snow in the surrounding mountains. Our second International and New Zealand parkrun done back in 2022 was with lots of other people parkrun touristing and collecting stats.
The course has a bit of everything, perfectly manicured botanical gardens, a beautiful lakeside pathway and even some hard packed trail through a Frisbee disk course. Two and half kilometres out then back means you get to see the leaders and everyone else at the event. There are toilets near the rotunda and start line, Coffee and breakfast was in town, chatting and waiting for the results to come through.

Not officially a Botanical gardens but still very impressive and good to have a walk around afterwards as well.
The Frisbee disk golf was through this pine tree wooded section.
Surrounded by some big mountains where lots of winter activities take place.
A rare Australian water bird was visiting as well.
Looking back across the bay from the gardens towards the main city centre. Even though it was summer I was still was not tempted to swim.
24:45 not my fastest time but we were on holidays and were hoping to climb the Ben Lomond mountain as well.
