For this CCC's Street Art Contest #280 hosted by @digi-me, I'd like to share a beautiful mural that decorates a schoolyard in Montreal. It was created by the AShop collective with artists Ankh One and Monk.E in 2018 with the help of the school's students. I really appreciate these initiatives that beautify the neighborhood with the participation of its residents. It's the best way to feel proud of where you live and to take care of it.

Pour ce CCC's Street Art Contest #280 organisé par @digi-me, je vous propose une très belle murale qui décore la cour d'une école à Montréal. Elle a été réalisée par le collectif AShop avec les artistes Ankh One et Monk.E en 2018 avec l'aide des élèves de l'école. J'aime beaucoup ces initiatives qui embellissent le quartier avec la participation de ses habitants. C'est la meilleure façon de se sentir fier de là où on vit et ainsi d'en prendre soin.

I'll start by introducing AShop, an independent art studio specializing in Street Art, founded in 2009 by several artists including Dodo Ose, Fluke, Earth Crusher, Kevin Ledo, Ankh One, Osmoze…. AShop offers professional visual arts services such as mural creation.

On va commencer par présenter AShop, un studio artistique indépendante spécialisée dans le StreetArt fondée en 2009 par plusieurs artistes dont Dodo Ose, Fluke, Earth Crusher, Kevin Ledo, Ankh One, Osmoze…. AShop propose des services professionnels en arts visuels comme la création de murale.

This mural, titled Gondwana and the Magic Door, was painted by Mikaël Carriau aka Ankh One, a French artist based in Montreal (see StreetArt #305 for a more complete biography), and Monk.E, an artist who needs no introduction, given his active presence in Montreal and consistently high-quality work.

The mural is inspired by a story written by the artist Alizée Pichot with students from Baril School (source). journalmetro.com). The result is truly magnificent, full of poetry and leaving plenty of room for the imagination. Perfect for a schoolyard.

Cette murale intitulée Gondwana et la porte magique a été peinte par Mikaël Carriau aka Ankh One, un artiste français installé à Montréal (voir StreetArt #305 pour une biographie plus complète et Monk.E, un artiste que je ne présente plus tellement qu'il est actif sur Montréal avec des oeuvres toujours de grande qualité.

La murale est inspirée par un conte écrit par l'artiste Alizée Pichot avec des élèves de l'école Baril (source journalmetro.com). Le résultat est vraiment magnifique rempli de poésie et laissant une grande place à l'imagination. Parfait pour une cour d'école.
