The Virgin of Guadalupe

Some time ago while I was making a pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Santo Cristo de la Grita in the Venezuelan Andes, I came across a painting that I found very special, since it was an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which rested on the side of a rather humble house, in an environment full of flowers and some rocks, thus generating a very pleasant space, where all the pilgrims stopped to admire each stroke and to ask the Virgin for strength and support in the long journey that was being made. To tell the truth, this image is located in the middle of a road whose slope is quite steep, therefore, the physical effort of this task is very strong, but although it seems incredible, stopping before this image gives us an ideal moment to take a breath, recharge energy and continue moving forward steadily.

La Virgen de Guadalupe

Hace algún tiempo mientras peregrinaba hacia el santuario del Santo Cristo de la Grita en los Andes venezolanos, me encontré con una pintura que me resultó muy especial, ya que se trataba de una imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe, la cual reposaba sobre el costado de una casa bastante humilde, en un entorno plagado de flores y algunas rocas, generando esta forma un espacio bastante agradable, en donde todos los peregrinos se detenían a admirar cada trazo y a pedirle a la Virgen mucha fuerza y apoyo en el largo recorrido que se estaba realizando. A decir verdad esta imagen se encuentra en medio de una carretera cuya inclinación es bastante pronunciada, por lo tanto, el esfuerzo físico de esta faena resulta qué fuerte, pero aunque parezca increíble, detenerse ante esta imagen nos brinda un momento ideal para tomar un respiro, recargar energías y seguir avanzando con paso firme.

In that opportunity I was not alone, I was accompanied by a great friend, who curiously is very devoted to the virgin and therefore when he found this image he felt rejoiced and full of good energies. Without hesitation, we sat down for a while to contemplate the tranquility of the environment, drink some water and enjoy those little moments that life gives us, and then continue our march and thus achieve the planned goal. I really do not know who is the creator of this artistic piece and about its location I can only tell you that it is located somewhere on local highway 3, in the section between the town of Las mesas and the city of La Grita.

En esa oportunidad yo no estaba solo, me encontraba acompañado de un gran amigo, el cual curiosamente es muy devoto a la virgen y por ello al encontrar esta imagen se sintió regocijado y lleno de buenas energías. Sin dudarlo, nos sentamos un rato a contemplar la tranquilidad del entorno, tomar un poco de agua y disfrutar de esos pequeños momentos que la vida nos regala, para luego continuar nuestra marcha y así poder lograr el objetivo planeado. Realmente desconozco quién es el creador de esta pieza artística y sobre su ubicación solo les puedo comentar que se encuentra en algún punto de la carretera local 3, en el tramo correspondiente entre la población de las mesas y la ciudad de la Grita.
