Visit to the stadium during the 2018–2019 season - #TBT [ENG-ESP]

If there is one thing Venezuelans are passionate about, it is baseball. We spend the entire year waiting for October to arrive so that the national baseball season can begin, which we are much more passionate about than the major leagues. The memory I’m sharing with you today is from the 2018-2019 season, when we went to the José Pérez Colmenares stadium in Maracay to watch our team, Los Tigres de Aragua, play.

Si hay algo que nos apasiona a los venezolanos es el béisbol y pasamos todo el año esperando a que llegue octubre para que empiece la temporada del béisbol nacional que nos apasiona muchísimo más que la de las grandes ligas. El recuerdo que les comparto hoy es de la temporada 2018-2019 cuando fuimos al estadio José Pérez Colmenares de Maracay para ver a jugar a nuestro equipo Los Tigres de Aragua.

I don’t remember who the opposing team was, but we did lose that game, because the first few times we went to the baseball stadium with the kids, we always lost those games. We were about to think that we were jinxing the team, but the last time we went, we WON. That was two years ago because last season we couldn’t go to a single game. The thing is, this year we want to go back and support our team. We also feel like winners because they’re at the top of the standings and undefeated at home, so we hope they win when we go too 😁.

No recuerdo cuál era el equipo contrario, pero si que perdimos ese juego, pues las primeras veces que fuimos al estadio de béisbol con los niños siempre perdimos esos juegos, estábamos a punto de pensar que nosotros le dábamos pava al equipo, pero la última vez que fuimos, ¡GANAMOS!, eso fue hace dos años porque la temporada pasada no pudimos ir ningun partido. El caso es que este año tenemos ganas de volver a ir y apoyar a nuestro equipo, además nos sentimos ganadores porque van de primeros en la tabla de posiciones con un invicto en casa, así que esperamos que cuando vayamos también ganen 😁.

To continue telling you about this day that I am sharing with you on my #TBT, as you can see in the first photos, we all have our team shirt and cap (except me because I don’t like them), but Andrea was still too young, so we hadn’t been able to buy her any team gear. Andrés had lent her his cap until my husband took her to the Los Tigres store inside the stadium to buy her either a shirt or a cap, and she chose this beautiful pink cap with the Los Tigres de Aragua logo.

Para seguir contándoles sobre este día que les comparto en mi #TBT, como ven en las primeras fotos, todos tenemos nuestra camisa del equipo y la gorra (menos yo porque no me gustan), pero a Andrea que todavía estaba pequeña no le habíamos podido comprar nada del equipo y Andrés le había prestado su gorra, hasta que mi esposo la llevo para la tienda de Los Tigres que está dentro del estadio, para comprarle ya sea una camisa o una gorra y ella escogió esta hermosa gorra rosada con el logo de Los Tigres de Aragua.

Going to the stadium is very exciting, the only downside is that there are no replays of plays, so you have to be careful not to miss a moment, because once it’s over and you’re looking the other way, there’s no turning back. But it’s still a lot of fun to go and enjoy the excitement and emotion of the fans at every play. You can feel the tension in the crowd, and when you want something good to happen, like a good hit at the right moment or a necessary strikeout, everyone stands up and you can feel the nervousness, not to mention the cheering sections that cheer on the players. Going to the stadium to watch a baseball game is truly an unparalleled experience. It’s not the same as watching it on TV from your home or a commercial venue. Here, you experience baseball fever as it should be.

Ir al estadio es muy emocionante, lo único malo es que no hay repeticiones de jugadas, así que debes estar pendiente de no perderte ningún momento, porque después que pasa y si estás mirando para otro lado ya no hay vuelta atrás, pero igual es muy divertido ir y disfrutar de la algarabía y la emoción que demuestran los fanáticos al momento de cada jugada, la tensión se siente en colectivo y cuando se quiere que algo bueno pase como un buen batazo en el momento oportuno o un ponche necesario, todos se ponen de pie y se siente el nerviosismos y sin hablar de las barras que se hacen para animar a los jugadores. De verdad que ir al estadio a ver un partido de béisbol es una experiencia inigualable, no es igual que verlo en televisión desde tu casa o un local comercial, aquí se vive la fiebre del béisbol como debe ser.
