Ayer, después de acompañar a mi mamá en unas diligencias de trabajo, ella quiso ir a Mango Bajito aprovechando que estábamos cerca, porque quería conseguir el cepillo de barrer ideal. Como ya saben, tengo dos perritas (Mili y Murphy), y ellas sueltan una gran cantidad de pelos. Siempre hay por toda la casa, como si fuera una nube de pelusa en el suelo. Esto a mi mamá le incomoda un poco, porque como es costurera, al momento de poner un vestido largo en el maniquí para cortar el ruedo, siempre termina lleno de pelos que, en ocasiones, son difíciles de quitar porque se entremeten en la tela. Además, al barrer la casa, casi siempre los pelos salen volando por todos lados, incluso terminan sobre su mesa de corte. Por eso pensamos que, con un cepillo más adecuado, especialmente para usar en su taller, esta situación podría mejorar. Fue por esta razón que nos dirigimos a Mango Bajito para ver si encontrábamos el cepillo perfecto.

Yesterday, after accompanying my mom on some work errands, she wanted to go to Mango Bajito since we were nearby, she was hoping to find the ideal broom. As you already know, I have two little dogs (Mili and Murphy), and they shed a lot of hair. It's always all over the house, almost like a cloud of fluff on the floor. This bothers my mom a bit, especially because she's a seamstress. Whenever she places a long dress on the mannequin to hem it, it always ends up covered in dog hair. Sometimes it's hard to remove, as it gets tangled in the fabric. Also, when sweeping, the hair tends to fly everywhere, even landing on her cutting table. So we thought that with a better broom, specially for use in her workshop, things might improve. That’s why we headed to Mango Bajito in search of the perfect one.

Allí se puede conseguir casi de todo, como ya les he mostrado antes, así que fuimos directo a la sección de productos para limpiar el hogar. La primera opción que vimos fue un cepillo con cerdas muy, pero muy suaves. Me pareció ideal, ya que podía alcanzar zonas pequeñas. Otro punto a favor era que no tenía esas puntas abiertas en las cerdas, que no me gustan porque siento que atrapan los pelos en el cepillo. Sin embargo, el tubo era muy corto, así que para usarlo había que agacharse, lo que nos llevó a seguir buscando una versión sin tubo, es decir, solo el cepillo.

You can find almost everything there, as I've shown you before, so we went straight to the cleaning supplies section. The first option we saw was a broom with very, very soft bristles. I thought it was ideal since it could reach smaller areas. Another good point was that it didn’t have those frayed bristle tips, which I dislike because they tend to trap pet hair. However, its handle was really short, which meant you'd have to bend down to use it, so we kept looking, hoping to find just the broom head without the handle.

Vimos unos mini cepillos con su pala incluida, pero a mi mamá no le gustaron porque se veían de muy mala calidad. Daba la impresión de que se romperían con la primera barrida. Luego encontramos una sección donde estaban los cepillos separados del tubo, pero ninguno pasaba la prueba, todos eran duros, anchos y con cerdas de puntas abiertas, justo lo que no queríamos. Como en Mango Bajito hay tantísimas cosas, seguimos explorando, por si acaso había alguno escondido que sí cumpliera con lo que buscábamos.

We saw some mini brooms with a matching dustpan, but my mom didn’t like them because they looked low-quality, like they’d break after the first sweep. Then we found the section with broom heads sold separately, but none of them passed the test, they were all stiff and wide, with those open-tip bristles we wanted to avoid. Since Mango Bajito has so many things, we kept searching in case one was hidden somewhere that met our needs.

Mientras seguíamos en esa búsqueda, mi mamá encontró algo que nos llamó la atención, tenía unos logos de perritos, así que asumimos que era para mascotas. Nos dimos cuenta de que era una especie de rodillo para atrapar pelusas del suelo, ideal para recoger los pelos de perros o gatos. Venía con un rodillo adicional de repuesto. Casi nos llevamos uno, pero luego pensamos qué haríamos cuando se agotaran los dos rollos, ya que allí no vendían más repuestos y era un producto exclusivo de Mango Bajito. Al final decidimos no comprarlo, porque sabíamos que no duraría mucho.

At one point during our search, my mom found something that caught our attention, it had some dog logos, so we assumed it was for pets. It turned out to be a kind of lint roller for picking up pet hair from the floor. It even came with a replacement roll. We almost bought one, but then wondered what we’d do once both rolls ran out, since they didn’t sell additional refills and the product was exclusive to Mango Bajito. In the end, we decided not to buy it, knowing it wouldn’t last long.

Seguimos buscando, pero no logramos encontrar el cepillo suave por separado. Entonces teníamos dos opciones: llevarnos el primer cepillo, que era muy suave y perfecto pero con un tubo corto que no se podía retirar, o elegir uno de los cepillos separados, que eran de mala calidad y no cumplían con lo que queríamos. Mi mamá se decidió por la primera opción, sin importar lo del tubo, porque ella siempre se las ingenia y dijo que en casa vería cómo resolverlo.

We kept looking, but couldn’t find the soft broom head sold separately. So we were left with two options: get the first broom with very soft and ideal bristles but a short, fixed handle, or get one of those broom heads that were poor quality and not what we were looking for. My mom decided to go with the first option, ignoring the handle issue, she’s clever like that and said she’d figure something out once we got home.

Duramos mucho tiempo decidiendo y buscando, así que se nos hizo tarde. Fuimos directo a la caja, donde había mucha gente haciendo cola, aunque, por suerte, avanzó rápido. Mi mamá y yo salimos contentas porque conseguimos un cepillo nuevo y, además, en la búsqueda se topó con una tijera para cortar tela que dijo que iba a probar para ver qué tal. We spent a lot of time deciding and searching, so it got late. We headed straight to the checkout, where there were lots of people in line, but luckily, it moved fast.
