Fiery birds | Coloring activity

Today, I wanted to make fiery birds. I was thinking of a phoenix although these ones are tiny. XD

This design gives an easier opportunity to put one main color in the middle. It also has a nice composition that leads your eyes to the center.

I used fuchsia and garnet colors for the heart which was quite a lot to color. Copic's tip wasn't that fine and the ink also runs so gotta be careful with the lines.

I went in to color the birds using light colors all the way to dark. I think I used about 5 colors all in just one bird. Using more really brings out the nice value and it blends that it became a nice gradient.

I also made the eggs the same color as the birds and now that I think about it, it might have been better to be teal haha.

It took about 1 and a half hours to do, mostly spending my time filling the heart. XD This was a bit rushed than the other coloring activity only because I just wanted to see how fast I can go. I like the ones that aren't rushed ofc, but no pressure anyway. :D

I used to paint a lot when I was a child. I remember the therapeutic feeling. I wish I had time to paint. Maybe I'll pick it up again in the new year.

Nice colours 👍

Having a coloring book got me painting again, maybe it will help you start again as well. Even just 10 minutes is doable since all you had to do was color. :D Thanks!

Always expressing your unique coloring artistry, @hiddenblade. I always appreciate your creative style. So original.

Greetings and happy Tuesday!! 🤗☺️🙏

Thank you! :D

i love a good colouring book. thats a great picture! im always hunting for good ones. Finding a "well made" one with single side pages or thicker ones for the alcohol markers can be a challenge. or i simply draw my own colouring pages to colour! lol happy creating.

This is a really good coloring book. The papers are thick and perfect for markers and they're not "back to back" so you're gonna be able to use them nicely. The book is called Mythographic and they have a bunch of other themes as well. But yeah I agree they are not easy to find. :D

They are starting to make more single sided colouring pages... i get that it seems more wasteful... but you can only use 50% of the images... Have a nice creative day!
