Would I do it again?
I am sure that we have all done many things in our lives and then later wondered whether we would do the same thing again. Or would we do it in a slightly different way? I can't say better because every situation, every decision is just a link in a chain of events that directs us in one direction or another. Neither better nor worse, just maybe different. But there are also some trivial things you did in the past, and you still ask yourself, where did I get the idea from or the courage to do it? Was I so crazy that I didn't think about the consequences?
Now that I watched a video recorded a few months ago when I was zip lining for the first time in my life, I thought - what if this ride didn't finish well?! I mean, whizzing over a deep valley at the speed of 70 km/h, hanging just by a set of straps that someone attached to me... 😳 maybe it is not so safe?
Dios mío, ¿en qué estaba pensando? 😂
But this was a wish coming true! I just didn't know it would happen during a little trip to Cuenca in September last year. It was a very interesting place to visit; I loved the stay, the old town from the Middle Ages, the valleys, the two rivers, the architecture, the food... 🤤 Everything! I loved everything.

The second evening, when we took a nighttime guided tour through the historic centre of Cuenca, the guide mentioned there is a zip line that goes over the valley. I couldn't get it out of my mind, so when we were back at our accommodation, I checked the website of this Zip line company to see what time they open in the morning.

There I was the very next morning, at 11 am, to be the first customer of the day. 😁
I bought my ticket online and went to the place to check in. I was explained everything, what I can do and what I shouldn't do (like touching the cable or opening the security hoop) and then I was assigned one of these harnesses.

Do you see the cables in this photo? They can be seen in the first photo as well if you observe it well. We can also see the little platform on the other side of the valley, the place where the crazy people who decide to take a ride on this zip line arrive. If they have luck, of course. 😆

My husband took a few photos of me during the last adjustments and while getting attached to the pulley by the set of straps and carabiners. I was joking before getting into this platform that my hands were shaking, though it was just for the sake of fun. I was excited, yes, but not scared.

And then the real fun started... see for yourself if you wish:
I arrived in one piece on the other side, full of adrenaline and super happy to live this experience. I guess you also heard my happy scream. 😂 The views while zip lining were awesome, I just wished it lasted for more time.
So, to answer my own question from the beginning of the post: Would I do it again..?
Definitely! 😉

You're so brave for trying it! :D It looks scary looking how deep the ground below was. But it is sure fun!
Brave or crazy, I can't really say haha :D
Fun to repeat in some next occasion :))
Perhaps it's both. hahaha
Oh maybe you can try zip lining about the sea. If there's one over there. We have it in our province. You get to cross the sea by zip lining to a nearby island.
Well, if I told you I would, I'd be lying, and if I told you I wouldn't, I'd also be lying because my fear of heights and my desire to feel like I'm flying are mixed up, so I'd have to be in that situation to give a definitive answer haha 😂
I was going to reply in the comment you tagged me in, but we decided to reply here... (Buhito said he wouldn't do it, but he would throw Bizcochito out there haha) 🦉
Then you indeed have to be in the situation to know the answer! 😇 I would hold your hand, I mean wing, before your decision to fly over the valley with this zip line, don't worry. And if you change your mind at the last moment... it would also be fine. We would give Bizcochito the ticket for it; no, no, we wouldn't throw him, haha!
What is life without a little risk? It takes a lot of courage to make important decisions, but even if we are afraid, we do it anyway, because at the end of the day, we are living life to the fullest, and that is what we want. I admire you for going on the zip line; it was a great adventure.
I can't agree more with you. We do have to try to live to the fullest, although with responsibility - like with a cold mind but with the flame in the heart! 😉
Thank you for your comment, @noalys 🍀
This is something I really want to try.. but the place where there is Zipline here is too far..😌
I bet it was a great experience of yours...you just screamed it out haha
!LADY
Haha, I did scream it out, like woooohoooooo, what a joyful feeling 😂
I hope you can visit that zip line one day, and have the adventure of trying it out 🤞
Auff, strah me je dok gledam tebe na snimku a ovamo bih kao i ja probalaa. Svaka čast za hrabrost. 😍
Pa naravno da bi i ti probala, malo straha dize adrenalin haha, ali to je zdravo. U malim dozama 😂
Hvala 🤗
That's one thing I wish I'd done when I was younger. Sounds way more fun than bungee jumping which I would never even consider doing.
Adrenaline junkie now, you're going to have to seek out different sites as well!
Yeah, bungee jumping seems much more dangerous, and I don't want even to imagine the impact on the body 😬
Good evening @mipiano; what amazing scenery you've shared (you have to come back in autumn) and how scared I was! This is a first for Hive... and I think for the whole world... I suffer from vertigo... 😰 I can't tolerate heights.
I hope you can repeat the experience as many times as you like.
Big hug. 🤗
Good morning @enraizar 🌞
Noooooo, you were scared? 😱
I should have put a warning at the beginning of the video: not suitable content for people not tolerating heights!
Gracias, veremos qué tirolinas me trae el futuro jaja 😁
Good morning, @mipiano. A warning ⚠️ at the beginning of the post would have been nice 😅.
For now, and while we wait for more adventures, I wish you a great Sunday. 🤗
A great Sunday to you too. :))
Intenté subir una foto de camino de ahora para que te olvides del miedo causado por el vídeo pero no he conseguido 🥲
😃🤗
😍 wow!!
Gracias 🫂
My husband did the zipline in Croatia in pazin more than once I really envy the courage of people like you and my hubby that use zipline I'll be incredibly scary 🤣🤣 I'll never do it I'm too scary of altitude 🤣
I checked the zip line from Pazin now , it is very nice ⛰️, it seems it has four sections. Maybe over time you get used to the idea and also try the zip line from Pazin with your husband 😇
🎉🎉🥳 Congratulations 🥳🎊🎊
Your post has just been curated and upvoted by @Ecency , keep up the good work !
not for me with my fear of hights
Mr Mipiano also gave me just moral support for my decision 😁
I am curious if @elbuhito would like to practise his fear of heights here 🦉
I would have definitely tried that in my younger days! Even though I know people who have been injured, mostly from improper landings!
I just started with these ideas haha, and I am not young either 😂
It looks so much fun, but I'm not sure if I would dare to do it though.
Are you gearing up to do the skydiving on HOD?
I have to practise for HOD, you see 😁
Although I have Mnotsharin plants now at home, I would try to convince you and share such an adventure 😉
How cool! I love these adventures. I've done something similar, but among trees and with shorter stretches. With that landscape, it must be much more exciting 😁.
Among the trees must have been very cool too 🌲
They state that this is Europe's longest urban double zip line, with its 445 metres of length. I think just because it is double and urban, as there are longer ones in Europe haha. I found one in Italy for example, which is 3 km 👀
3 km! It must be spectacular! 😃🤩
I would also try it out and kind of envy you as we're walking in ankle deep snow right now on an uneven, icy surface, but it will have to wait, till I get to a place where they have such a ... toy for adults 😆 Very cool!
Hahah, toy for adults 😆 it indeed is haha
Yay, cool that you would also try it. It is a double zip line, two people can go at the same time, of course, each on one cable - együtt mehetnénk és egyszerre sikíthatnánk 😂
But I envy you for the snow!! Not for ice though 😬
Your words resonate within me like an echo of wisdom that invites reflection. Life, in its intricate dance of decisions, constantly confronts us with paths that, when looked back on, lead us to question not only our choices, but also the value of each experience we have had. Each step we take forms a thread in the vast fabric of our existence, reminding us that there are no absolute judgements, only lessons that shape us.
Your experience on the zip line is a clear example of how life invites us to leap into the abyss of the unknown. That mixture of excitement and a touch of madness that you describe is precisely what enriches our existence. Hanging over a deep valley, trusting the straps that hold us, is an act of faith that we must all cultivate. In those moments of uncertainty, when a chill runs down our spine, we find the essence of courage that drives us to live fully.
Cuenca, with its timeless beauty, becomes the perfect setting for this adventure. A journey that, under the guise of the everyday, becomes a catalyst for self-discovery. The zip line, more than just a physical challenge, becomes a symbol of our search for meaning and connection with the world around us. It reminds us that sometimes true courage lies in taking that leap, in opening ourselves up to what life has to offer.
The excitement you feel before launching yourself, even if disguised as a joke, reveals that mixture of nerves and enthusiasm we all experience when faced with the unknown. It teaches us that, even though life is uncertain, every step we take brings us closer to the truth of who we are and to understanding the universe we inhabit.
I encourage you to keep looking for those moments that feed your spirit. Every adventure, no matter how small, is an opportunity to grow and celebrate the beauty of the ephemeral. Thank you for sharing your story, which highlights that life is made up of moments that, although they may seem crazy, are actually the seeds of our most precious memories.
