Well Hivers this makes a nice change for a beer Saturday I’m in our local the Maltings with @scubahead.
I did hope to have a pint of Gun Dog which is a 4.3% ABV bitter and very nice it is too but obviously a few other people had the same idea an it only pulled the last half a glass out of the barrel.
In the end at the suggestion of Chris the owner I settled on a pint of Path of the Sun from Ideal Day brewery. It’s a 4.5%ABV field Beer, what ever that is supposed to be, OK it’s basically a fruity session pale ale. Quite tasty and defiantly easy drinking. Probably a bit too easy drinking but I’m driving.
Chris has a good handle on his customers and knows what they might like and while it was a bit out of my traditional bitters comfort zone it was very refreshing and drinkable, probably a good beer for a sunny afternoon BBQ.
One of the advantages of not learning to drive is that other people have to take you to far flung pubs. :D
I don’t mind that much the Maltings is walking distance and it the best pub for beer in the local area.
Well it does look like it has a good selection. My closest two locals sell garbage.
The Maltings is attached to the Teignworthy Brewery they have an amazing selection about 10 beers a ciders on tap and 3 big fridges with canned and bottled beers. It’s bout 20 minutes walking distance there and usually an hour walking back
With helpful bushes along the route if the need takes you I hope. :)
