When I published the Almost IPA post exactly two weeks ago, with a "beverage" called non-alcoholic beer, it seemed to me that I was making a big mistake and resenting the beer Gods, and karma for writing about "not beer" in the #Beer community 😀
Because beer without alcohol is nothing but juice. That's why it doesn't deserve to be in the posts of this community.
The next day, whether due to karma (I'm not that superstitious, but it's interesting to write something like that 🙂 ), cold "juice" or some bacteria, I caught a bad cold and for the next few days I had a fever, a sore throat, I didn't go to work for a few days, and just when I thought I'd be able to taste some real beer for the previous #BeerSaturday edition, I started coughing 😷
And so all week...
In all, I was off the rails for two weeks.
That's why I was pleased when, finally recovered, yesterday, I arranged to have lunch at a restaurant and then go out to a stand-up performance at a club that serves local craft beer.
With the perfectly crispy, boneless roast pork we ate at the BSK sports club restaurant in Borča, I didn't want to drink anything but mineral water.
Why?
I wanted to get extra thirsty and make the beers that I will drink later in the evening even more enjoyable🙂
Although I didn't know which brewery it was and what they had to offer 🤔
The restaurant where we had lunch had a beautiful garden and the food was excellent, highly recommended.
The place where we went to stand up after lunch, to listen to an interesting guy from Seville, Spain
Miguel Jaramillo, who moved to Serbia 15 years ago and settled down next to my countrywoman, was not that nice.
But they had a great selection of craft beers.
Craft brewery ZZAPI, from Borča, is a young, almost established brewery, a project of three women and two men, which brews 5 beers in its cauldrons.
I like their logo ZZAPI
Good beer for good people
😀
The flyer is interesting and gives enough information about their beers.
**The left side of the Danube **
(where Borca is located) is Pislner style with 4.5% alcohol.
Light, unfiltered, unpasteurized beer.
Its ingredients are: water, barley malt, hops and selected brewer's yeast.
"You are entering the fifth dimension, a dimension beyond those known to man. Boundless as space and timeless as infinity. Stuck between science and superstition, between the first and fifth glass of beer."
This beer was the first choice of my friend, who really liked the description on the label, and I immediately opted for something a little more exotic.
India Pale Ale TRIMIX
After two weeks, I wanted to drink a beer that would instantly bring back memories of the IPA style, and this beer, which has three types of hops in it, was the right choice.
It is a light, unfiltered, unpasteurized ALE. The ingredients of this beer are: water, barley malt, oatmeal, hops, selected brewer's yeast.
The description on the bottle is an invitation to a tasting:
"Deep dive.
Three types of hops. Drunkenness lurks deep in the bottle."
I also like the warning they put on the label
"This drinking media is restricted to certified beer drinkers"
The beer is not excessively bitter, it feels malty, it is pleasantly balanced, with a nice foam and a beautiful color.
After this IPA beer, which I drank very quickly, I decided on BREAKPOINT
New England IPA (NEIPA) light, strong, hazy, unfiltered, unpasteurized ale.
The ingredients are: water, barley malt, oat flakes, wheat flakes, hops, selected brewer's yeast. Extract 16.2%.
Alcohol 6.5% vol.
This is a beer that has no bitterness, but rather an increased malt, and the smell and taste is a real explosion of tropical notes, reminiscent of mango, guava and passion fruit. Foam, for memory!
A beautiful beer, after which I had to take a short break, just to decide which of the remaining beers I would like.
I made PRESEDAN and ordered this English Style Pale Ale, Extra Special Bitter beer, perhaps the only one brewed in this area.
It is a dark, unfiltered and unpasteurized beer.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, wheat malt, hops, selected beer yeast, contains cereals.
Alcohol 5.0% vol.
And in the end, when Stand Up entered the most interesting part of the story (about sex between spouses and those who are not), when the lights went completely silent, I decided to try KOMŠINICA as well 😁
"Woman from the neighborhood"
The beautiful bottle label of this Red Irish beer invites beer drinkers to intimate moments with a red-haired Irish woman.
Irish red ale, dark, unfiltered, unpasteurized beer.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat flakes, hops, selected beer yeast.
Extract: 10.8%
Alcohol 4.5% vol.
In the end, I liked this beer with a lower % of alcohol and pronounced aromatic notes of toasted caramel, literally, like a dessert at the end of the evening.
After two weeks of drinking medicine and cough syrup, it was very nice to taste alcoholic craft beers on my lips, and if you have a chance to try the beers of this brewery somewhere, I think you will like them.
I recommend!
