The Weather

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. There has been more rain these days. Something that I've thought about when we had extremely hot and humid afternoons the past few weeks. Now, my mind is like this is too much rain. How can I go out for my walks to the grocery store or the coffee shop? It's really funny now that I think about it. The realization that I am never satisfied with the weather. And, maybe it's not just me. Maybe, humans are never satisfied?

Well, there is that time around sunrise when it's still cool enough to feel refreshed while looking at the horizon and seeing the sky slowly change before my very eyes. As the time transitions from dark to light I do my morning stuff and begin my day thankful that I am still alive and able to witness a miracle.

Scorching Hot

And, speaking of being refreshed. I was at the market yesterday (began writing my draft Wednesday, but just finished now) to get some kitchen supplies while the sun was really shining it's brightest, which I loved but it was still too hot to walk back to the house. I needed the steps but I also didn't want to suffer a heat stroke along the way. So, this gave me an excuse to chill out at my favorite coffee spot and drink a cold beverage. By this time, I've already had two cups of coffee at home so I got the Pure Vanilla Ice Blended drink, which is just vanilla powder, skimmed milk and ice, topped with whipped cream. I loved it.

People and Pets

Now, sitting near the side entrance and looking outside was a great location to relax while watching people walk by. These days, more people bring their pets along. My favorite one was a guy with long hair carrying his husky. It may still be a puppy but husky pups can grow big, fast. He was holding hands with a girl (girlfriend or wife?), which might seem like a great Instagram post but kinda looked like he was tired and sweaty already.

In a way, I think that we've made good progress in the way we look at pets. Which can also mean that our attitude as a people have already begun to shift. Seeing more animal rescue channels on soc med and non-kill shelters sprouting like mushroom, I'd say that we are moving in the right direction.

Of course, I'm biased. As a dog person, I think that having pets helps us in developing compassion. Especially for the young ones, taking care of a dog or cat helps develop responsibility and accountability even at a young age.

To End

And this is what we need these days, more compassionate, responsible, coffee-loving people. With all the chaos happening in the world, we need to turn the tide if we are to survive and evolve as a human race. Otherwise, we might find ourselves being hurled back into medieval times where warlords rule and women have no voice in the world. It's easy to say that old folks values are outdated, but look a few centuries back and see what we really think.

And that's it for today, I've had another cup of coffee, but still too sleepy already. I will turn in after a long night and probably wake up a little later than usual. Hopefully, nature greets me with a nice sunny, but not scorching hot, day.
