A Cozy Day at the Café: The Perfect Hangout with Friends

Lately I was in a cozy café with friends and there is something really magical in that. Hidden in the center of the city, a very warm brown color which made me feel at home immediately greeted me. The moment I walked in my nostrils were welcomed with the neutrals of freshly brewed coffee and the indigo whispers of other patrons chattering in the dim light.

The cafe aesthetic was sophisticated, retro even and I sank down into the plush armchair. The walls were all rustic wooden panels and the ambient lighting was exceedingly calming. The café was very charming — each table was specifically decorated with a small potted plant and vintage books. The brown theme was not actually a colour, but a representation of the feel of comfort and warmth which made it perfect for us to gather.

Soon my friends came and the excitement was a real one. But we embraced each other and laughed, diving immediately into conversations about our lives, our dreams and whatever else. I don’t know why but there’s something magical about how a warm and cosy environment adds to that reconnection with the people you love. Pulling up to the bar we reminisced about days gone by with a sip and speak—some with rich lattes and others with decadent hot chocolate. When it came to café’s menu the choices were numerous, but us all agreed that sharing is the best way to get into the food. It was not over the top in any way but when it came to food it was nothing short of amazing.

We picked some dishes that comprises pancakes which are super fluffy flavoured with fresh fruits, avocado toast to add some savory bites and a to die for chocolate cake that I gave in. It was a joy with each bite and flavour to bursting and presented so beautifully. The pancakes were light, airy and the maple syrup dripping down on top complimented the pancakes with their sweetness. Yet another healthy, yet indulgent choice, was avocado toast topped with cherry tomatoes and a sprinkling of feta cheese. The chocolate cake? Rich, moist and utterly divine, it was a testiment to the cafés committment to quality.

And we chatted, filled each other in on our lives and savoured our food. The thing that always hits me here and in life is how important it is to nurture friendships. At the café we reminisced and smiled about times past, imagined dreamlike futures and of course laughed some more, over coffee, over tea, over coffee and tea. There was soft, soothing background music to compliment our experience without getting at all overbearing. After our meal we thought we would order some desserts to share. So the caffe had good selection for desserts, including creamy cheesecakes and decadent brownies. There was the sweetness of the treats and the company. With every bite my friends and I were thankful for spending time in such beautiful surroundings.
