This blog is the next part of my visit on my wife's family on the country side. I apologize for a long update I had an important trip to attend too and that will be revealed on my next blog. This was taken the day before we ride a bus going to their place in was a long travel here from my place and it took 3 hours to get their not just on bus but on a motorcycle and lastly on foot.

After we settle in the next day we attended the funeral of one of their closes relatives then the Priest held a mass a ceremony to remember and guide the soul of their beloved one. Me, my wife, and my daughter took a picture since we all look good together.

After the funeral we then rest a little on a local cafe before heading home just to reflenish our energy. We had a good time and just in time to head home a city away from the place of her uncle. The plan was to go home after the funeral but since we are tired we decided to stay back at their home. It was also the moment that I realize it was my first time visiting the place for the time. As I mentioned some event already happened on my part one I will now continue on the part where we unexpectedly celebrate a good old small reunion a gathering where a small members of family get to meet again for a long time.

The next day early in the morning, my wife took me on her second cousins farm to ask and buy some vegetables to bring here in the city since it was good timing and idea to eat fresh vegetable coming from the farm. I was amaze to see how wide the plantation of her cousin is and it was full of different kinds of vegetables like "Gabi" or in English we call it "Taro", besides Taro we also can harvest its shoots called "Dagmay" in our language. Luckily his cousin gave it to us for free since he get to meet me he was very good to me he also paired them with "shoots called the poor man's asparagus" or "Takway in Filipino" another type of root crops commonly found in the mountain areas in the Philippines.

After we had a good early morning errands and a good sip of coffee on the country side. Next two hours we then head to straight down the mountain to meet up with the other members of the family because we will be having a celebration on a nearby resort to relax and catch up with each other. It was also a good moment where I get to meet new members of the family. Somehow a little nerve racking since I am not good in socializing I was able to pull it off my chest and be confident meeting them all I was happy that they treated me like family too. We ate grill fish, porkchop, and Spaghetti for dessert a smal gathering but a cool and fun to attend too.

Since the kids where very excited to swim we let them go by their own but with a little supervision mothers and I decided just to let them swim on the kiddie pool for safety while us the adults tend to jump in the biggest pool but honestly I am not a good swimmer so I just hug the sides.

We took our time roaming and used the amenities of the resort the best part of this outing was the moment where we sang a lot of songs because of the resort's feature of videoke which a lot of Pilipino's relate so much. It was a very enjoyable day but as we know sometimes the day needs to end and we need to catch our time of lookig for a bus heading home. I will never forget this moment thanks for having the time to read my blog I will soon post more have a good one fellow hivers!

It's very interesting to visit a farm .. living close to nature is quite a memorable experience...
The countryside resort is very beautiful it's a great place for outdoor activities and a perfect venue for relaxation..

Wow, your long trip takes 3 hours! That's just like here in our place-when we go to the city, it takes 3 to 4 hours by bus. I'm also amazed by your cousin's gabi plantation. That's delicious when cooked in ginataan, especially the young shoots.😋 I missed those dish, when was the last time I've eaten it? I recalled during lockdown due to COVID, when one of our Barangay Tanod, cooked that specialty of him. 🙂😋
