I hope you are well. Last night I watched the EuroLeague basketball final match between Fenerbahce Beko and Monaco. I have said many times before that I am a Fenerbahce fan but I don't have much interest in basketball. I don't even know the rules very well. The last game I watched was Fenerbahce's final game in 2017. They were European champions that year too.

Umarım iyisinizdir. Dün akşam Fenerbahçe Beko- Monako EuroLeague basketbol final maçını izledim. Fenerbahçeli olduğumu daha önce birçok kez söylemiştim ancak Basketbola çok fazla ilgim yok. Kuralları bile çok fazla bilmiyorum. En son izlediğim maç yine Fenerbahçe’nin 2017 deki final maçıydı. O sene de Avrupa şampiyonu olmuştu.
I get excited in the final games, even more so if the team plays badly. In the first part of the game Fenerbahce was a bit bad in defence, we made unnecessary mistakes and scored simple points. Of course, we should not ignore the three-pointers scored by Monaco.
In the later minutes of the game, they quickly learnt from their mistakes and started to play more carefully in defence. After a short time, they managed to close the 10-point gap. Of course, my excitement was replaced by joy. 😅
Final maçlarında heyecanlı oluyorum. Üstelik takım kötü oynarsa heyecanım daha da çok artıyor. Maçın ilk bölümlerinde Fenerbahçe savunma anlamında biraz kötüydü gereksiz hatalarla basit sayılar yedik. Tabi Monako takımının attığı üçlükleri göz ardı etmemek gerekiyor.
Maçın ilerleyen dakikalarında hatalarından hızlıca ders çıkarıp savunmada daha dikkatli oynamaya başladılar. Kısa bir süre sonra 10 puanlık farklı kapatmayı başardılar. Tabi böyle olunca benim heyecanımın yeri sevinç aldı. 😅
In games like this, all the players do their best, but some of them really take a lot of responsibility and carry the team on their backs and make sure that the team doesn't fall down.
In the second and third quarters, Monaco was ahead from time to time, but Fenerbahce reacted very quickly and kept the game under control. The last quarter hour was already a storm. Especially with Guduric's three-pointers, Fenerbahce almost marched to the championship. At this point, I would like to open a separate parenthesis for Guduric. I think he was the most effective player of the game who was the most cold-blooded and knew what he was doing, who was looking for the weaknesses of the opponent. He proved it with the points he scored.
Böyle maçlarda bütün oyuncular elinden gelenin fazlasını yapsalarda bazıları gerçekten büyük sorumluluk alıp takımı sırtlıyorlar ve oyundan düşmemesini sağlıyorlar.
İkinci ve üçüncü çeyrekte zaman zaman Monako takımı öne geçse de Fenerbahçe çok çabuk reaksiyon göstererek maçı kontrol altında tutmayı başardı. Son çeyrek saatte zaten fırtına koptu. Özellikle Guduric ile bulduğu üç sayılık atışlarla adeta şampiyonluğa yürüdü. Bu noktada Guduric’e ayrı bir parantez açmak istiyorum. Bence maçın en soğuk kanlı ve ne yaptığını bilen, rakibin zayıf yönlerini süzen en etkili oyuncuydu. Zaten attığı sayılarla bunu ispatladı.
In the last minutes of the match Fenerbahce played with confidence. Especially in the last minutes, the Monaco team played with the stress of being behind. In the last 30 seconds of the match, the championship chants started and the substitutes and fans started to rejoice. In the last 13 seconds, the Monaco team must have believed that everything was over, because they left the game completely.
And with the last second, Fenerbahce Beko became the biggest team in Europe. Congratulations Team Congratulations to the Fenerbahce community...
Maçın son dakikalarında kendinden emin oynayan Fenerbahçe vardı. Özellikle son dakikalarda Monako takımı geride olmanın stresiyle oynadılar. Maçın son 30 saniyelerinde şampiyonluk sesleri yükselmeye başlamış, yedek oyuncular ve taraftarlar sevinmeye başlamıştı. Son 13 saniyeye girildiğinde artık her şeyin bitiğine Monako takımı da inanmış olmalı ki maçı tamamen bıraktılar.
Ve son saniye ile birlikte Fenerbahçe Beko Avrupa’nın en büyüğü oldu. Tebrikler Takım. Tebrikler Fenerbahçe camiası…
After Galatasaray's championship in the Super League, it was a meaningful championship for the Fenerbahce community. Basketball and football are very different branches. Football is more important in terms of importance. To be honest, I would prefer the Football team to be the champion in the Superliga than the Basketball team to be the champion in Europe. But you are happy whichever branch your favourite team becomes champion or shows success.
Yesterday was an important day for Galatasaray fans. I congratulate them again, they had a big championship celebration in Yenikap. Therefore, we were not exposed to see these celebrations. I also congratulate the Fenerbahçe basketball team for this. 😄

Süperligde Galatasaray’ın şampiyon olmasından sonra Fenerbahçe camiası için anlamlı bir şampiyonluk oldu. Basketbol ve Futbol çok ayrı bir branş. Önemi itibarıyla Futbol daha önde. Açık konuşmak gerekirse Futbol takımının Süperligde şampiyon olmasını Basket takımının Avrupa’da şampiyon olmasına tercih ederdim. Ama tuttuğunuz takım hangi branşta şampiyon olsa ya da başarı gösterse insan mutlu oluyor.
Dün Galatasaraylılar içinde önemli bir gündü. Kendilerini tekrardan tebrik ediyorum. Yenikapıda büyük bir şampiyonluk kutlamaları yaptılar. Dolayısıyla bu kutlamaları görmeye maruz kalmadık. Fenerbahçe basket takımını bu yüzden ayrıca tebrik ediyorum. 😄
